Actress Suffers Stroke Caused by Blood Clot Side-Effect After Taking AstraZeneca COVID Vaccine

Actress Melle Stewart is fighting for her life after she suffered a stroke after taking AstraZeneca COVID vaccine.

The 40-year-old actress suffered a rare blood-clotting side effect following her AstraZenaca vaccine injection.

Stewart reportedly continues to be an advocate for the vaccination.

The Daily Mail reported:

An Australian actress was fighting for life in ICU after suffering a stroke caused by the AstraZeneca vaccine’s rare blood-clotting side effect.

Melle Stewart, 40, received her first dose of the Oxford-made vaccine on May 24 in London, where she lives with her husband, and fellow actor, Ben Lewis.

Thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome is an extremely rare condition involving low blood platelet levels and only 156 cases of the illness have been reported from nearly 13million doses of AstraZeneca administered in Australia.

Of those, only 8 have died, and it’s still unclear whether those could be attributed to underlying conditions.

The chances of suffering this rare side effect are very low and occur in around 4-6 people in every million after being vaccinated, according to the Australian government website.

A GoFundMe was set up for Melle Stewart — As of Sunday night $168,000 has been raised for the Aussie actress.

Black Lives Matter stage vaccine mandate protest at NYC's Barclays Center to demand unvaccinated Kyrie Irving be able to play NBA games

Hundreds of demonstrators staged a protest against vaccine mandates on Sunday at the Barclays Center in New York City. The protesters – which included Black Lives Matter supporters – demanded that the Brooklyn Nets allow superstar Kyrie Irving to be able to play in NBA games despite being unvaccinated.

Demonstrators called for an end to New York City's vaccine mandate, and carried signs that read: "End medical mandates" and "No digital passports." There were also protesters supporting the Nets basketball player with "Stand with Kyrie" signs.

The crowd of protesters was extremely diverse, with conservatives with American, Gadsden, and "F*** Biden" flags, along with Black Lives Matter supporters, and a woman with a "Vegan unvaxxed" sign.

The protesters marched to the Barclays Center – where the Nets played on Sunday without Irving and lost at home to the visiting Charlotte Hornets.

Earlier this month, the Brooklyn Nets banned Irving from playing in all games and participating in practices because he is unvaccinated against COVID-19. New York City's draconian health guideline requires everyone to be vaccinated to enter indoor gyms. Kyrie was still eligible to play in away games, but the Nets barred him from all games.

The NBA ruled that unvaccinated players banned from playing games must forfeit their salary. If Irving misses the season because he doesn't get vaccinated against COVID-19, the seven-time All-Star and NBA champion stands to lose his entire $35 million salary this season.

Members of the Black Lives Matter of Greater New York organization participated in the protest against the vaccine mandate. Hawk Newsome – the co-founder and chairman of the group – led protesters in chants of "My body, my choice" and "Let Kyrie play!"

Fauci refuses to budge when confronted about damning NIH letter seemingly admitting risky research funding

Dr. Anthony Fauci refused to budge on his narrative Sunday when confronted about a new letter from the National Institutes of Health, which seemingly admitted the agency engaged in gain-of-function research at the infamous Wuhan Institute of Virology.

What is the background?

Throughout the pandemic — and in several notable exchanges with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) — Fauci has denied the NIH funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan bio laboratory.

In one definitive instance, Fauci told Paul at a congressional hearing in May:

I do not have any accounting of what the Chinese may have done, and I'm fully in favor of any further investigation of what went on in China. However, I will repeat again, the NIH and NIAID categorically has not funded gain-of-function research to be conducted in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

However a top NIH official — principal deputy director Dr. Lawrence Tabak — released a letter last week that seemingly admitting to funding risky gain-of-function research.

Vanity Fair underscored the significance of the NIH letter. "But the NIH letter—coming after months of congressional demands for more information—seemed to underscore that America's premier science institute has been less than forthcoming about risky research it has funded and failed to properly monitor. Instead of helping to lead a search for COVID-19's origins, with the pandemic now firmly in its 19th month, the NIH has circled the wagons, defending its grant system and scientific judgment against a rising tide of questions."

During an interview on ABC's "This Week," Fauci refused to admit that he has been less than forthcoming about the NIH funding risky research.

In response to Paul taking a victory lap after the release of the NIH letter, Fauci said Paul is still wrong.

"Well, I obviously totally disagree with Sen. Paul. He's absolutely incorrect. Neither I nor Dr. Francis Collins, the director of the NIH, lied or misled about what we've done," Fauci said.

Fauci continued:

The framework under which we have guidance about the conduct of research that we fund, the funding at the Wuhan Institute was to be able to determine what is out there in the environment, in bat viruses in China. And the research was very strictly under what we call a framework of oversight of the type of research. And under those conditions which we have explained very, very clearly, does not constitute research of gain-of-function of concern.

When asked by host George Stephanopoulos whether the NIH letter proves what Vanity Fair explained — that the NIH engaged in riskier research than what agency officials have admitted — Fauci held his position.

"No, it isn't. We knew what the risk was, and what the oversight is," he said.

Fauci, in fact, said the real problem is that people don't know the definition of gain-of-function research.

"When people talk about gain-of-function, they make that implication which I think is unconscionable to do, to say, well, maybe that research led to SARS-CoV-2," Fauci said. "You can ask any person of good faith who's a virologist, and they will tell you, absolutely clearly, that that would be molecularly impossible."

"So, things are getting conflated, George, that should not be conflated," Fauci claimed.

ADL Warns: Avoid Culturally Insensitive, Gender-conforming Halloween Costumes

The increasingly partisan Anti-Defamation League (ADL) interjected itself into the annual Halloween debate this week when the organization advised parents to avoid Halloween costumes that are culturally insensitive and perpetuate gender norms.

“Halloween is a week away and you and your family might be brainstorming costume ideas,” the ADL tweeted on Sunday. “Check out our resource for reminders about how and why to avoid cultural appropriation, cultural stereotypes, and costumes that perpetuate gender norms.”

According to the ADL, parents should not let their children indulge in their desired costume if it appropriates from any culture, most especially Native American. If the child asks to dress up as Pocahontas, the ADL advised that parents use it as a teaching opportunity to enlighten their child’s mind to the rich cultural heritage of Native Americans.

Before Halloween, be proactive by addressing these issues in advance and use it as an educational opportunity to discuss stereotypes, bias and cultural appropriation. Many children and families don’t realize that their costume choices are potentially hurtful or offensive. For example, a child who may be interested in Native American stories and history wants to dress up as a Native American person. Consider it an opportunity to talk with them about how Native American dress is not a costume. Instead, it is an essential part of identity, unique to each different tribe with their own customs and ways of dress.

Help children understand that Halloween costumes are only fun or funny when they don’t hurt or make fun of other people or spread stereotypes.

Beyond mere costumes that incorporate sombreros, hachimakis, or dashikis, the ADL also cautioned against costumes that offend people of lower economic status, such as “hobos,” “bums” or “rednecks.”
