The Racine County Sheriff’s Office announced during their press conference on Thursday that they are submitting their investigation to the Racine District Attorney’s office following their hearing today.

The Wisconsin Election Commission violated state law in a statewide nursing home voting scam.

The Racine Sheriffs laid out the results of their investigation on Thursday. The government did not follow the law.

The Wisconsin Election Commission took advantage of impaired seniors. The Racine Sheriffs believe this crime occurred in all 72 counties.

Of the absentee ballots, over 265,000 ballots were in an indefinitely confined status, compared to 67,000 in 2016. This was an increase of 200,000 indefinitely confined voters.

100 Percent Fed Up reports – On September 23, 2019, Southfield City Clerk Sherikia Hawkins (D) was charged with six election law felonies related to the 2016 election. Curiously, four of the six felony charges against her were dropped before her case went to trial.

After the charges were announced, Michigan’s dishonest Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson told the media, “Today upon learning that the Southfield City Clerk was formally charged with multiple crimes under Michigan election law, I exercised my authority under Michigan law to exert supervisory control over local election officials and directed the clerk to refrain from administering any election while there are charges pending against her,” Benson said. “Our elections are the foundation of our democracy, and under my and Attorney General Nessel’s administration there will be no tolerance for any actions that undermine that foundation – anywhere, anytime, by any person or official.”

But, that’s not exactly what happened. Sherikia has yet to stand trial for her crimes, and in the meantime, four of the six felony voter fraud charges have been dropped that stem from the November 2018 election.

Before the four absentee voter fraud charges were dropped, Sherikia was potentially facing up to 48 years in prison.

After the hotly-contested 2020 election, we caught up with Sherikia by phone to ask if a court date had been scheduled for her to appear for her alleged crimes? She told us she is still waiting to see if a judge will rule to dismiss her case. When asked if she was still the active city clerk in Southfield, one of Michigan’s largest cities, she said she was, but claims she did not participate in the 2020 election.

Sherikia is still the active city clerk and is currently running for re-election. According to Oakland County GOP Chair Rocky Raczkowski, if Hawkins wins, which he believes she will, despite the two remaining felony voter fraud charges, she could potentially get a plea deal and still collect full benefits from the majority Democrat city.

Michigan’s dirty Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and the lawless Attorney General Dana Nessel promised justice would be served for Sherikia Hawkins. They made it clear that political affiliation would not be used as a litmus test when punishing those who abuse their power to commit crimes related to voting in their state.

But that’s not exactly true…

In a small township in rural Michigan, Stephanie Scott, the Adams Township Clerk who ran for office as a Republican, received a letter today from Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s office written by Director of Elections Jonathon Braeter with a copy sent to Dana Nessel’s office, informing her that she has been relieved of her duties as an elected official, a full two days before the deadline for her to comply with their demands to “update” her Hart voting machine.

Vatican Spurns Biden By Abruptly Cancelling Live Coverage Of Meeting With Pope Francis

Is arguably the most progressive Pope in the Catholic Church's 2,000-year history suffering a rift with America's second-ever Roman Catholic president? Or maybe the Vatican is simply worried that President Biden might embarrass the Vatican by being mentally unfit for a public appearance after such a long trip, and with so much else going on.

According to the AP, the Vatican abruptly cancelled a planned live broadcast that was supposed to feature President Biden meeting Pope Francis. This marks the latest move to curtail media coverage by the Holy See (ie the Vatican) as controversies over Pope Francis's progressive positions - along with revelations that he too was complicit in the Catholic Church's sex abuse scandals - have hurt his popularity.

The Vatican press office offered no explanation for why the live broadcast was canceled. The two leaders are still expected to meet after Biden lands in Rome for a G-20 meeting.

The live coverage was supposed to show Biden meeting Francis in the palace Throne Room, as well as footage of the two men sitting down to begin their private talks in Francis’ library.

Instead of airing any of this live, the Vatican says it will provide edited footage after the fact.

Biden has met Pope Francis three previous times, but this will be his first meeting with the leader of the world's 1.2 billion Catholics as President.

Although the Vatican didn't offer any clues as to the reason for the cancellation, it's worth noting that Pope Francis is expected to hold his annual meeting with American bishops in a few weeks. A large group of American bishops have been pushing a new rule that would deny Biden - a lifelong Catholic who has made his faith central to his identity - communion, effectively ex-communicating one of the world's most visible Catholics from the church.

Reporters covering the Vatican say they don't expect any document that emerges from the bishops' conclave with the Pope to mention Biden by name, but the expectation of a "clear rebuke" remains.

Per the AP, live broadcasts with world leaders are particularly important because the Vatican hasn’t allowed independent photographers and journalists into papal audiences since the start of the COVID pandemic. The Vatican has continued to cite the pandemic as a reason to deny external media access to the beginnings and ends of papal audiences.

When asked about Biden's Vatican trip at a White House press conference the other day, Spokeswoman Jen Psaki "there's a great deal of overlap between Biden and Pope Francis on a handful of issues".

These issues will be the "centerpiece" of their discussion.

Danish Health Minister Threatens To "Shut Down Society" If More People Don't Get Vaccinated

The Danish health minister is threatening to “shut down society” if more people don’t get vaccinated after the country experienced a COVID spike despite over 75 per cent of the population being fully vaccinated.

As we highlighted on Monday, Denmark just suffered its worse COVID case load since May, while the virus reproduction (R number) also jumped to 2.01, which is the highest level since January.

Over 75 per cent of Denmark’s 5.8 million inhabitants have been fully vaccinated.

Despite the fact that 85 per cent of people over the age of 12 are vaccinated, Denmark has seen more than 1,000 daily cases of COVID for a week straight.

Now authorities are threatening to “shut down society,” according to opposition party health spokesman Martin Geertsen, if more Danes don’t take the shot.

“If we are to keep Denmark open, we must have more people get the vaccine,” said Health Minister Magnus Heunicke

Although Heunicke said the vaccine would remain voluntary, he ominously warned the unvaccinated that their refusal to get the jab “no longer works.”

Geertsen said the government was breaking its promise to eliminate lockdowns once a high proportion of the population had been vaccinated, adding that Heunicke was sending a “completely wild message.”

Last year, Danish authorities tried to pass a law that would have allowed the forced vaccination of anyone, with police being used to physically detain people and hold them down while being jabbed, but the effort was abandoned after mass protests.

UK teenager sentenced to 35 years in prison for killing two sisters in demonic 'sacrifice' to enable him to win the lottery

A teenager in the UK has been sentenced to at least 35 years in prison for murdering two sisters in a brutal stabbing that, a court heard, was part of a "contract" he'd made to offer a sacrifice to a demon to secure a lottery win.

Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman were killed in a random attack on June 6, 2020, in London, after meeting to celebrate Henry's birthday. Smallman was stabbed 28 times and Henry was attacked eight times in a frenzied assault before the attacker, 19-year-old Danyal Hussein, fled the scene.

Hussein never offered evidence in court and failed to provide an explanation for the murders. Investigating officers found a note where he'd made a “contract” with “King Lucifuge Rolocale” to “sacrifice only women” in return for “wealth and power.” It was signed in his own blood.

In the 10 days after the attack, Hussein had spent £160 ($220) on lottery tickets in the hopes of securing the “fruitful rewards” requested in his contract. If he hadn't been detained, police fear he would have struck again, as the offer to the demon promised to “perform a minimum of six sacrifices every six months for as long as I am free and physically capable.”

Prior to his crimes, Hussein had been referred to the UK government's counter-extremism programme Prevent, after teachers discovered he'd been looking at far-right material on school computers. While he was ultimately discharged from a de-radicalisation programme after three years, following the stabbing, police found he'd still been looking at right-wing content, as well as accessing Satanic forums.

Pennsylvania Satanist group gets school district to alter dress code

A Pennsylvania school district has amended its dress code after complaints from a Satanic group founder who blasted it as discriminatory.

Joseph Rose, who runs Satanic Delco, says fellow Satanists with children in schools in the Rose Tree Media School District alerted him of language in its dress code banning clothing or gear that are “satanic in nature,” WPVI reported.

Rose then embarked on a month-long campaign to get district officials to remove that verbiage, the station reported.

“The idea that a public school would allow religious expression in school, but choose to single out and prohibit the expression of one specific religion obviously seemed like a problem for us,” Rose told WPVI.

The district’s dress code had banned clothing and items with sexually suggestive images, those that advocate violence or promote the use of alcohol or drugs, any with obscene or “disrespectful” language, as well as Satanic imagery.

White House Announces $1.75 Trillion Budget Framework Agreement

The White House on Thursday announced that Democrats had reached a deal on the broad strokes of their multi-trillion budget reconciliation bill, resolving months of infighting among the Democratic caucus in Congress.

To appease Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W. Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), the bill’s price tag has been slashed in half from an original top-line price of $3.5 trillion down to a top-line price of $1.75 trillion.

“After hearing input from all sides and negotiating in good faith with Senators Manchin and Sinema, Congressional Leadership, and a broad swath of Members of Congress, President Biden is announcing a framework for the Build Back Better Act,” announced President Joe Biden in an online press release.

Manchin and Sinema have long held up the legislation, citing concerns over the bill’s price and its potential to cause unintended collateral damage, to the chagrin of progressive Democrats.

Since the bill’s inception, Manchin, Sinema, and others have spoken against the laundry list of proposals from their party: incentives for clean energy, encouraging electric vehicles, carbon taxes, expansion of the government’s role in health care, increasing tax rates, and a measure to let the IRS snoop into Americans’ bank accounts, among others.

These squabbles pushed the bill far off schedule, but the new agreement gives a glimmer of hope to supporters of the bill.

In his release, Biden touched on the main highlights of the new, smaller bill.

The bill’s broad expenditures are: $400 billion for child care and preschool programs, $150 billion for home health care, $200 billion for child and earned income tax credits, $555 billion for “clean energy and climate investments,” $130 billion to expand President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), $35 billion for hearing benefits for those on Medicare, $150 billion for housing initiatives, $40 billion for higher education and workforce development programs, $100 billion for immigration, and $90 billion for “equity and other investments.”

In order to meet their promise to craft a fully paid-for bill, the budget will also include a long list of new revenue schemes. According to the White House release, these new revenue schemes include estimated revenue of: $325 billion from a 15 percent minimum corporate tax, $125 billion from a new “stock buyback tax,” $350 billion from “Corporate International Reform to Stop Rewarding Companies That Ship Jobs and Profits Overseas,” $230 billion from Democrats’ new “billionaire tax,” $250 billion from “closing [the] Medicare tax loophole for [the] wealthy,” and $400 billion from new “IRS investments,” among others.

Disney/Hulu Halloween Short Film Alludes to Nanny of ‘Non-Binary Child’ Killing Boy

What happens when leftists throw Halloween and their woke agenda into a cauldron and mix it together? The nightmarish result is this year’s “Bite Size Halloween,” a Hulu short film series sponsored by Mars Inc. — the company responsible for some of America’s most popular trick-or-treating candy.

One of the most notable episodes in the series, which Hulu released on October 1, is called “The New Nanny” and features a goth witch who uses her dark powers to defend a little boy wearing princess dress from a bully.

“With a little magic, the new nanny helps a non-binary child deal with bullies and find self-acceptance,” the episode description on Hulu reads.

The official Twitter of Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween posted a preview of the episode featuring the witch and the “non-binary” child on October 11 and tagged Twix as the sponsor of the gender ideology-focused short film.

In the episode, the little boy — whose parents are not present in the storyline — is sitting on the floor of his home dressed in a princess costume and playing with what appear to be toys meant for girls when the witch arrives and tells him she is his new nanny. Soon after she settles in, young girls in the neighborhood notice the boy is wearing the dress and begin bugging him with questions. When the new nanny comes outside, the girls ask her if she’s a good witch or a bad witch. Alluding to the episode’s disturbing conclusion, she ominously answers “do you want to find out?” before the girls run away in fear.

The next scene cuts to the nanny and the “non-binary” child getting into the car to go to the park.

“I’m still wearing my princess dress,” the little boy says from the backseat.

“Do you want to wear it?” the nanny asks in what seems like an attempt to affirm the child’s “identity.” The boy nods “yes” with apprehensive eyes.

When they arrive at the park, another little boy in a cape begins to taunt the boy in the dress.

“You look like a girl. Why are you wearing that?” the other boy asks.

“Dressing like this makes me feel good,” the “non-binary” child replies.

After more taunting, the nanny stands up, summons a great gust of wind, and blows the bully away. The episode seems to allude to his untimely demise, though the nanny says he will “probably” be fine. All that is left of him is one of his shoes and his cape.

According to Bloody Disgusting, an American horror genre-focused website, episode director Bridget Moloney said it was inspired by her own kids’ nanny:

Chicago Mayor Lightfoot: ‘No Question’ Coronavirus to Blame for Recent Rise in Violence

Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) attributed the recent uptick in violence in the United States’ major cities such as hers to the coronavirus pandemic.

Lightfoot claimed there was “no question” there was a “COVID-related impact on the public safety system.” She also emphasized the need to fight the root causes of violence in cities like Chicago, which she said was poverty, lack of jobs and lack of hope.

“[W]e are making progress in Chicago,” Lightfoot outlined. “We have a homicide clearance rate that’s about 45%. Certainly below what we expect, but better than we’ve been in about five or six years. We cleared more murders this year than we have in the last 10 years. So, we’re seeing progress being made, but there’s no question that the COVID-related impact on the public safety system in Chicago, in New York, in L.A., D.C. and other cities across the country is real. And what we’ve got to continue to do is make sure that we’re demanding of our courts and our prosecutors that they hold violent people accountable and keep them off our streets.”

“It’s a huge issue for us in Chicago, and we have to continue fighting that fight,” she continued. “And then we’ve also got to play the long game at getting at the root causes of the violence, which is poverty, lack of investment, lack of jobs and … lack of hope. We got to disrupt the pipeline of young souls that are going to the streets and subject to the predatory tactics of the gangs by giving them hope in a future that isn’t minding somebody’s corner spot.”

Wilton Manors Elementary School brought students to Rosie’s, a local gay bar, for a field trip, a school board member announced Wednesday.

Broward County School Board member Sarah Leonardi attended the field trip and commented, “I was SO honored to be invited to chaperone … the students and I had a fun walk over and learned a lot about our community!” She also mentioned that this is an annual trip hosted by the gay bar for children.

Photos from the event show 18 children who appear to be under the age of ten wearing masks and matching t-shirts outside Rosie’s.

Rosie’s menu items include “Naked Sweaty Lovin’,” “Beet Your Brains Out” “Rhoda Cowboy,” “Ivana Hooker” and “Young Ranch Hand,” according to its website. The restaurant characterizes itself as a place to “see” and “be seen,” and it describes its staff as being “like family (the good kind, that you would choose to have.)”

Florida’s official tourism marketing company cites sources calling Wilton Manors “Florida’s most famous gayborhood.”

Broward County defied Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ ban on mask mandates in schools this fall, citing safety concerns for students and faculty. The district will lift the mask mandate in schools on Nov. 1, Local 10 reported.

‘Nothing Has Changed’ – Pakistani Rape Gangs Still Sexually Exploiting Children, Says Tory MP

Conservative MPs have called for a “Rotherham-style inquiry” into the mostly Pakistani heritage “grooming gangs” sexually preying on children in West Yorkshire, with accusations of inaction and of the scandal still being “swept under the carpet”.

On Tuesday, three Tory MPs, Robbie Moore, Philip Davies, and Lee Anderson, took to the floor of the House of Commons to call on the government to commission an investigation into rape gangs in their constituencies if the local Bradford Council continues to fail to act.

“Let’s call this problem out for what it is: predominantly a small minority of largely Pakistani Muslim men in West Yorkshire, including, I’m sad to say, in Keighley and across the Bradford district, that have been sexually exploiting young children for far too long,” Mr Moore said per the local Yorkshire Post.

“The Pakistani community are quite rightly outraged that the entire community is being branded with the same accusation. It is not fair and it is deeply offensive,” the Conservative MP continued.

“This isn’t about race or pitching communities against each other, it’s about looking at the facts so we can address them head-on and move forward.”

Moore represents the Bradford suburb of Keighley, which has been plagued by mostly “Asian” grooming gangs sexually exploiting young children for years.

Most recently, three men, Nazir Khan, Usman Sultan, and Kamran Hussain were all found guilty of raping and exploiting the same 14-year-old girl in Keighley.

Moore said that “nothing really has changed” since the epidemic was first brought to light and accused local authorities of still trying to sweep the issue “under the carpet”.

Philip Davies MP said that the government “should make sure we get this inquiry” if the local Bradford Council and others fail to launch an investigation to “get to the bottom of what’s gone wrong and make sure it never happens again”.

The MPs suggested that there should be a “Rotheram-style inquiry” after an investigation into child sexual exploitation in that city found that at least 1,400 young people were sexually abused by grooming gangs over a 16-year period.

Facebook tells employees to keep ALL communication and documents dating back to 2016 as government inquiries begin after barrage of damaging accusations

Facebook has ordered employees to keep all their emails and documents relating to its businesses since 2016 after government inquiries were opened into the under-fire social media firm's operations.

A company-wide email sent on Tuesday night told staff to 'preserve internal documents and communications since 2016' in a move known as a 'legal hold'.

Employees were told that encrypted messages should be kept and they should not discuss or post about the order on the company's internal message board.

Documents related to WhatsApp, augmented reality studio Spark AR and the New Product Experimentation group, an internal incubator, were not included in the legal hold.

But WhatsApp messages relating to other topics have to be preserved, staff were told.

It comes following bombshell claims from former employee-turned-whistleblower Frances Haugen that the tech giant ignored internal complaints from staff for years to put profits first, 'lied' to investors and shielded CEO Mark Zuckerberg from public scrutiny.

She claimed Facebook knowingly spread misinformation, fuelled hate speech, failed to crack down on abuses spread on the platform and exacerbated body image issues, particularly among teenage girls.

In the email sent to employees, obtained by the New York Times, Facebook said: 'As you are probably aware, we're currently the focus of extensive media coverage based on a swath of internal documents.

'As is often the case following this kind of reporting, a number of inquiries from governments and legislative bodies have been launched into the company's operations.'

Facebook acknowledged to shareholders this week it is facing 'government investigations' in relation to the leaked documents.

It is not known whether the inquiries refer to the US Senate or the UK Parliament.

Haugen filed her complaints this week to the Securities and Exchange Commission and has also testified in Congress and to British MPs on Monday. She also provided redacted versions to Congress.

FBI raids Florida office of Chinese credit card reader firm suspected of helping cyberattacks in US and EU while Biden bans Chinese phone carrier for spying

Federal investigators have raided the Florida offices of a Chinese credit card reader company that is believed to have been behind dozens of cyberattacks around the world.

PAX Technology that makes point-of-sale devices with more than 60 million in use across 120 countries and generated around $727 million in sales revenues in 2020.

The Jacksonville raid is believed to be tied to reports that the system PAX operates was used in cyberattacks on U.S. and European organizations.

Agents with the FBI and Department of Homeland Security raided a local PAX Technology warehouse reports WOKV.

'FBI and MI5 are conducting an intensive investigation into PAX,' a source told the station. 'A major US payment processor began asking questions about network packets originating from PAX terminals and were not given any good answers.'

The payment processing company's terminals have been used both as malware 'dropper' for malicious file and also as a 'command-and-control' device in order to carry out attacks and collect information.

The firm's 'ownership and control by the Chinese government raise significant national security and law enforcement risks,' the statement read.

It warned that it gives opportunities for Beijing 'to access, store, disrupt, and/or misroute US communications, which in turn allow them to engage in espionage and other harmful activities against the United States.'

'The FCC´s decision is disappointing,' China Telecom spokesman Ge Yu said response to the news. 'We plan to pursue all available options while continuing to serve our customers.'

The Chinese government has said it would take steps to protect its companies but has yet to announce any retaliation over their status in the U.S. market.

The telecom companies are on a U.S. government blacklist of entities deemed by the Pentagon to be involved in military development.

Others include state-owned oil companies, suppliers of processor chips and video technology and construction, aerospace, rocketry, shipbuilding and nuclear power equipment companies.

James will enter the race as a formidable candidate for the Democratic nomination just months after issuing a damning report that drove Andrew Cuomo from office in a sexual harassment scandal.

The three people familiar with her plans were not authorized to speak publicly. James is expected to make an announcement later this week, according to one of the people.

Kimberly Peeler-Allen, a James campaign adviser said in a statement: 'Attorney General Letitia James has made a decision regarding the governor´s race. She will be announcing it in the coming days.'

James, 63, is the first woman elected as New York´s attorney general and the first Black person to serve in the role. With a power base in New York City, she is poised to be a top threat to Gov. Kathy Hochul, who had been Cuomo´s lieutenant governor.

Hochul, who is from the Buffalo area, entered office with a reputation as a political centrist but has been striving to win over New York City progressives, making numerous appearances in the city during her first months in office.

James, who was born and raised in Brooklyn and made her first run for City Council as a candidate of the liberal Working Families Party, would have the reverse task of winning over upstate Democrats who might be more conservative.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has publicly admitted that the Covid vaccines do not prevent infection or transmission.

On Friday, Johnson told reporters that being double jabbed provided “a lot of protection against serious illness and death” but did not protect against “catching the disease” or “passing it on”.

He then went on to promote the booster jabs saying they were ‘fantastic’.

He said: “So the message is that the boosters are fantastic. The levels of protection are really very high, but it’s also very, very important that you get one because the double vaccination provides a lot of protection against serious illness and death but it doesn’t protect you against catching the disease, and it doesn’t protect you against passing it on. So now is the time to get your booster.”

The Daily Sceptic asks: But if being double-vaccinated doesn’t prevent you being infected or transmitting the virus after just a few months, why will a booster be much better? Why is it so important to prevent transmission and infection through boosters anyway, when protection against serious illness and death is holding up well and that’s all that really matters?

Another question for the Prime Minster: What now is the point of vaccine passports and mandates? Why sack hundreds of thousands of care home workers and health care staff who decline vaccination, most of whom have served faithfully throughout the pandemic, if vaccination makes no difference to how infectious you are and so does not protect others?

Now that the Prime Minister himself has let the cat out of the bag on the vaccines not preventing spread, will the media start reporting on this data properly? And will the Government now join the dots and abandon vaccine coercion? We can but hope.

China Urges US To Immediately Lift Sanctions On Taliban As "Economic Chaos" Looms

China is now urging the United States to immediately lift sanctions against the Taliban and unfreeze all of Afghanistan's assets abroad. As part of its appeal, Beijing is offering assurances to Washington that the hardline Islamist group will "effectively" protect the rights of women and minorities.

Beijing is further warning the West of looming "economic chaos" in the war-torn central Asian country if more is not urgently done to relieve the economic pressure and allow for greater stability. "China urges the Western countries, led by the United States as a whole, to lift sanctions, and calls on all parties to engage with the Afghan Taliban in a rational and pragmatic manner," Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said this week following two days of talks with the Taliban which concluded Tuesday in Doha.

Weapons execs lament losses from Afghanistan exit, tout DOD budget increase

Raytheon’s CEO says Congress’s military allotment is more ‘aligned’ with the company’s business interests.

Speaking to investors on Tuesday, two of the biggest U.S. weapons manufacturers provided estimates on how the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, a war that cost U.S. taxpayers over $2 trillion and took over 243,000 lives, impacted their bottom lines. Both companies also expressed enthusiasm about a bipartisan push to increase the 2022 defense budget by $29.3 billion, a five percent increase over the 2021 budget and more than $10 billion more than President Biden requested.

Approximately half of the defense budget goes to contractors like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, both of whom explained to investors how the end of a 20 year war will impact their profits while still painting a rosy picture of ballooning defense spending driving corporate revenue and padding the bottomline for shareholders.

Raytheon CEO Gregory Hayes, who took home nearly $21 million in compensation last year, acknowledged that the end of a war was bad for the bottomline, telling investors:

Yeah. So the lost sales on the defense side, I would category — three categories of issues there. One, I think the pullout in Afghanistan, there’s about a $75 million impact to full year revenue, not huge but meaningful.

But Hayes might be bullish on his long-term business prospects, despite the “not huge but meaningful” financial hit from the end of a 20 year war.

Earlier in the call, the weapons executive boasted about bipartisan support for boosting the defense budget above what the White House requested. “[As] we’ve said, defense spending is nonpartisan, and we’re encouraged to see Congress supporting plus ups to the president’s budget that are also aligned to our business and our investments in new technologies,” said Hayes, offering an unusual interpretation of the bipartisan motivation to boost defense spending.

Hayes’s assessment that the budget was “aligned” with his business and financial interests instead of national security priorities like climate change, which the Pentagon and the White House identify as existential national security threats, is a moment of candor from the weapons industry. The alignment of the defense budget with the business needs of for-profit-weapons-firms might not be a total coincidence. The weapons industry spent over $1 billion lobbying Congress between 2002 and 2020 while government funding of the top five weapons firms grew by 188 percent.

Raytheon’s optimism about future profits fueled by ballooning defense budgets was shared by Lockheed Martin on its own earnings call conducted on the same day. Lockheed’s CFO acknowledged that the Afghanistan withdrawal created “a $200 million year-over-year headwind,” referring to the negative financial impact on the company from the withdrawal.
