Paul Pelosi owns up to $1 million of Tesla call options

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D., Calif.) husband hit pay dirt on Monday as Tesla's valuation rose to $1 trillion.

The news comes as Pelosi spearheads legislation that doles out tens of billions of dollars in subsidies to the electric vehicle industry, including Tesla, with provisions to build charging stations for cars and incentivize electric car purchases through tax credits.

The financial dealings of Pelosi's husband, Paul, came under scrutiny earlier this year when he purchased as much as $1 million of Tesla call options, one of the largest transactions of Tesla shares disclosed by a member of Congress. At the time, Republicans charged that the House speaker was cashing in on her power.

Members of Congress and their spouses are legally allowed to buy and sell stock, as long as it is not based on insider information. Members are required to disclose their transactions to the House Committee on Ethics, as Pelosi did with the Tesla transaction on Jan. 21.

Pelosi is spearheading negotiations with the White House as Democrats look to pass Joe Biden's Build Back Better plan and a reconciliation bill that includes the electric car incentives. Tesla, a pioneer in the electric car industry, is poised to see a significant boost from the legislation, according to industry watchers.

Democrats are proposing nearly $120 billion to fund various clean energy projects, and another $34.5 billion dedicated to zero-emission vehicles. The reconciliation bill also proposes $42 billion in tax credits for purchases of electric vehicles, which Democrats hope will incentivize new car buyers to purchase electric vehicles instead of gas-powered cars. The bill offers up to $12,500 in credits for each car. It also calls for tens of billions of dollars in spending to build charging stations for electric cars across the country.

Tesla's dramatic rise is likely attributable to several factors beyond the Democrats' spending proposals. Tesla founder Elon Musk recently announced he is moving the company's headquarters from California to Texas, which has no state income tax. Tesla's cars have also gained in popularity without federal incentives.

And while Tesla and other clean energy companies stand to gain with environmentally friendly Democrats in power, the company opposes some aspects of the reconciliation proposal, such as an additional credit for the purchase of electric cars made in unionized factories. Musk has publicly opposed unionization efforts.

Richard Burr’s Brother-In-Law Called Broker and Dumped Stock One Minute After Getting Off Phone with NC Senator

It appears Richard Burr wasn’t the only person privy to his insider knowledge to profit off the Covid downturn.

Last year the FBI seized Senator Richard Burr’s (R-NC) phone in connection with the federal probe into his stock trades.

Burr dumped as much as $1.72 million in hotel stocks before the Coronavirus panic hit the US while reassuring the public about Coronavirus preparedness.

This was also at the same time Burr was receiving daily briefings on the Coronavirus health threat.

Privately Burr sounded the alarm and compared Coronavirus to the 1918 “Spanish Flu” that nearly wiped out 10% of the world’s population at the time — including 675,000 Americans by some estimates.

“There’s one thing that I can tell you about this: It is much more aggressive in its transmission than anything that we have seen in recent history,” he said, according to a secret recording obtained by NPR. “It is probably more akin to the 1918 pandemic.”

Publicly, however, Burr downplayed the virus.

Burr previously said he got his information from public news reports.

“I relied solely on public news reports to guide my decisions regarding the sale of stocks on February 13,” Burr said. “Specifically, I closely followed CNBC’s daily health and science reporting out of its Asia bureaus at the time.”

Last year Richard Burr’s brother-in-law called his broker and dumped stock just one minute after getting off the phone with the North Carolina senator, according to a report by ProPublica.

After Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina dumped more than $1.6 million in stocks in February 2020 a week before the coronavirus market crash, he called his brother-in-law, according to a new Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

They talked for 50 seconds.

Burr, according to the SEC, had material nonpublic information regarding the incoming economic impact of coronavirus.

The very next minute, Burr’s brother-in-law, Gerald Fauth, called his broker.

ProPublica previously reported that Fauth, a member of the National Mediation Board, had dumped stock the same day Burr did. But it was previously unknown that Burr and Fauth spoke that day, and that their contact came just before Fauth began the process of dumping stock himself.

In the filings, the SEC also revealed that there is an ongoing insider trading investigation into both Burr and Fauth’s trades.

DAY TWO — ‘CIA Tried to Kill Assange;’ US: ‘He’s Only Moderately Depressed & Won’t Go to Isolation’

The two-day U.S. appeal against the denial of extradition of Julian Assange has ended in London with the U.S. promising humane prison conditions and Assange’s lawyers saying the CIA tried to kill him.

The United States vowed that only a “moderately depressed” Julian Assange would serve time in a humane U.S. prison if he is extradited, while lawyers for Assange told the High Court that the Central Intelligence Agency plotted to assassinate him, as a two-day U.S. appeal hearing came to a close on Thursday in London.

The U.S. is seeking to overturn a lower court decision in January not to extradite the imprisoned WikiLeaks publisher on the grounds that he is at high risk of suicide if he faced time isolated in a harsh American prison.

A prosecutor for the U.S. set out over the course of the hearing to convince the two High Court justices to reject that ruling, arguing that Assange is not seriously ill and would not be placed in solitary confinement should he be sent to the U.S.

Assange’s lawyers on the other hand defended the lower court finding of severe mental conditions and high likelihood of committing suicide and sought to dismiss American assurances to Britain that Assange would not be put under Special Administrative Measures (SAMS) or housed in the maximum security ADX Florence prison in Colorado.

They went further, telling the court that the foreign intelligence service of the government requesting Assange’s extradition had seriously considered murdering or kidnapping him.

CIA Plot

Assange lawyer Mark Summers QC essentially told the court that before the United States tried to legally extradite him from Britain it discussed concrete plans to extract Assange from Britain by kidnapping him and rendering him to the United States, possibly through a third country.

Summers began by pointing out that it would be the very Central Intelligence Agency, which plotted to harm him, that would ultimately determine whether Assange would be imprisoned in SAMS. “The relationship between the CIA and Mr. Assange is vast and it’s not before this court,” said Summers.

Chief Justice Ian Burnett, one of the two High Court judges, interjected, “It’s not contested that the CIA is intensely interested in Mr. Assange.”

“Yes, but what they are prepared to do,” Summers said. “I invite my Lords to understand the lengths they went to against Mr. Assange.” He then ran through the details of a Yahoo News! report in September about how the CIA plotted against Assange.

“It seems there were discussions in the Oval Office about killing him and sketches were sketches drawn in the summer of 2017 as matters escalated to render him back to America from the U.K.,” Summers said. “But the U.K. refused to go along with this.”

Former CIA director Mike Pompeo “is on the record that some things are true and it’s under Congressional investigation,” Summers said. He referred to testimony in Assange’s September 2020 hearing when former employees of the Spanish security firm UC Global first talked about plans to kidnap or poison Assange.

James Lewis, QC, the prosecutor for the U.S. said nothing about this in his 30-minute rebuttal at the end of the hearing.

Roupoli even called out members of the board for their unwarranted criticism, in which they called parents “selfish,” among other things, for daring to speak up against the board’s radical agenda at the meetings.

Naturally, the crowd in attendance at the meeting burst out into applause for Roupoli once she had concluded her brave speech, which is when the triggered president of the board couldn’t hold back her contempt any longer and was caught on the hot mic using the choice words as she crazily slammed her gavel to regain order in the room.

Child predators among 102 arrested in Polk County human trafficking sting, Sheriff Grady Judd says

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — More than 100 people were arrested following a six-day human trafficking operation out of Polk County, Sheriff Grady Judd announced Thursday.

The sting, “Operation No Tricks, No Treats” targeted child predators, prostitutes and those who solicit them. Deputies were able to rescue a 17-year-old girl and two women in their 20s who were believed to be victims of human trafficking.

Thirty-eight people were arrested for prostitution while 62 others were accused of soliciting prostitutes.

Judd said they also arrested two child predators in the sting.

Donald Spencer, 64, of Mulberry posted an online add seeking “someone I can make love with, not to.” He began chatting with an undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old girl, then traveled to an undisclosed location, thinking he was going to have sex with her, Judd said.

“He told her online that he was going to teach her, and monitor her and help her grow into this world of sex,” Judd said.

Judd said Spencer told deputies he suspected it was a set up, but he “had to sacrifice himself in case it wasn’t.”

“That’s how strong the desire is to have sex with children,” Judd said. “He was prowling social media sites looking for a child to attack.”

Judd said Theodore Ryan Jones, a chef in Disney Springs, had communicated with an undercover detective posing as a 13-year-old girl. Judd said Jones wanted the girl to cuddle with him and his stuffed Pikachu, and have sex with him in his car.

“We had to rescue Pikachu from that nasty environment,” Judd said. “He was seeking children on social media sites. He was transmitting nude photographs of himself to what he believed to be a 13-year-old child. He said very nasty things to this 13-year-old child to go along with the very ugly, vile, nude photographs that he sent.”

BUSTED: 26 accused of trying to meet minor for sex arrested during Abilene-area online operation

Abilene police, with the assistance of several other law enforcement agencies, arrested 26 men during a multi-day online operation centered around child sex crimes.

The men, who range in age from 24 to 70-years-old, were all taken into custody and charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor or Prostitution Under 18 during the operation, which was a joint effort between the Abilene Police Department’s Cyber Crimes Unit, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Department of Homeland Security. and the Sweetwater Police Department.

A press release states all suspects were contacted by detectives via social media applications and, “then agreed to meet up with what they believed to be an underage juvenile.”

Many British elected MPs are paid-up members of the CFI, Conservative Friends of Israel (the AIPAC-affiliated, London lobby) in the House of Commons, that has supported the Likud government of Israel for over 10 years. The head of that lobby sits openly as a Conservative peer in the House of Lords, in Westminster.

The ultra, Right-wing Likud party of the State of Israel is headed by a politician who is now on trial for corruption and bribery in office having been Prime Minister of Israel for over a decade.

His wife was indicted on fraud charges. But those facts did not stop him from standing for election again in a country where the electorate obviously admire his policies of harassment and containment of the Palestinian Arab minority by a 14-year illegal blockade of essential goods and the destruction of power supplies to nearly two million civilians in Gaza.

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is the implementing body for the Chemical Weapons Convention, which entered into force on 29 April 1997. The OPCW, with its 193 Member States, oversees the global endeavour to permanently and verifiably, eliminate chemical weapons. 193 States have committed to the Chemical Weapons Convention to date and 98% of the global population live under its protection. As of 2020, the majority of the chemical weapons stockpiles declared by possessor states have been verifiably destroyed. However, Israel is a signatory state that has not ratified the Convention, and Egypt, North Korea and South Sudan, have neither signed nor acceded to it.
