A recently published study by Dutch and German experts under the unwieldy title "The BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 reprograms both adaptive and innate immune responses" caused a sensation.
The crucial sentence from the abstract, the implications of which are not yet even foreseeable, reads, "In summary, the mRNA-BNT162b2 vaccine induces complex functional reprogramming of innate immune responses, which should be taken into account in the development and application of this new vaccine class."
