"Forty-two-year-old Nathaniel Becker is being held without bond at the South Central Regional Jail. He was arraigned Thursday at a federal courthouse in Charleston. His preliminary hearing is set for 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2. Becker was arrested in Marietta, Ohio, on probable cause and charged with possession of an unregistered firearm/explosive device by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement officers recovered suspected destructive devices from two different tugboats on the Ohio River on October 21 and October 25. The criminal complaint alleges that Becker purchased pipes and other relevant components of the suspected destructive devices from a Lowe’s store in Marietta on four separate occasions. Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks confirmed to NBC affiliate WTAP that Becker is the same man arrested last winter during a barricade situation in Devola, Ohio. The arrest comes after West Virginia State Police were called to a barge three times in less than a week to investigate potentially suspicious devices."
