Tradition says Peter GUARDS the pearly gates, either allowing or denying entry.

 

Remember, Peter means stone, not rock. Peter is stone, God is our rock. The stone like a great millstone is thrown down.

When Mary was standing outside, some people told Jesus His mother and brothers were out there to see him. He asked who His mother is, pointed to the disciples and said "Who is my mother and brothers? Those who do the will of my father are brother sister and mother."

 

So if his mother is those who do the will of the Father, who does Mary represent? Who are they worshipping and praying to rather than God?

 

What did Jesus say about one says they will do the will of the father and then doesn't, and the other says I will not and then does?
