New Madrid, MO is just off-pic at the top of the loop.
Just off-pic to the right (upstream) is the spot where a temp waterfall formed that caused the Mississippi to run backwards after the great 1812 earthquake caused the land there to uplift.
The land in the middle of between the loop is Kentucky - it's only accessible by road from Tennessee (bottom of the pic).
