China needs Super Soldiers

The Logistic Support Department of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) said that oxygen production and supply has become portable and individualised for every soldier.

The CMC has also increased supplies of field oxygen in Tibet by establishing portable oxygen generators and solid oxygen generators, targeting the specific needs of plateau border patrol missions.

"A support system for oxygen use in both peacetime and wartime has thereby been established," the People's Liberation Army (PLA) said in a statement.

The PLA has already opened the world's most extensive "plateau human genetic resources biological sample bank" in the Tibetan region to improve medical research into altitude sickness.

It's all free

Thieves have been targeting cargo containers which are being hauled by trains in Los Angeles amid a major backlog at ports across the country.

Thousands of boxes which were previously being held on Union Pacific trains as they wait to make their way into the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach have been seen strewn by the train tracks at Valley Boulevard and North Mission Road in Lincoln Park.

As noted by NBC, there are homeless encampments on both sides on the railway tracks where the boxes have been discarded.

Union Pacific said it is aware of the thefts and is working with local police on the matter. City officials are reported to be looking into moving some of the containers into vacant lots in Wilmington in order to help prevent further thefts.

We got "Bent over"

https://democrats.org/news/dnc-statement-on-virginia-election-results/

DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement regarding the results of yesterday’s elections in Virginia:

“Terry McAuliffe, Hala Ayala, Mark Herring and Democrats down the ballot ran a tireless campaign to move Virginia forward into a brighter future and while they came up short, families across the commonwealth are better off because of their service. Make no mistake, Democrats turned out in huge numbers last night, and while it did not get the job done, Democrats across the country will not be deterred. We will get right back to work. As we say in South Carolina: while we breathe, we hope. Starting today and every single day over the next year, Democrats will remain laser focused on delivering for working families and making our case directly to each and every voter. We will not rest until the polls close next year and we know that Democrats have won the House, Senate, and governors’ mansions across the country to continue delivering hope and progress for the American people.”

Here comes the finger pointing

https://therealnews.com/corporate-democrats-have-only-themselves-to-blame-for-loss-in-virginia-say-progressives

After Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe—a conservative whose campaign was flush with billionaire cash—fell to Republican private equity mogul Glenn Youngkin in Virginia’s closely watched gubernatorial race on Tuesday, establishment Democrats wasted no time pinning the blame on progressives.

The finger-pointing started days before the polls opened in Virginia, a state that has trended blue in recent years and that President Joe Biden won by 10 percentage points in 2020.

Several conservative Democrats, including Sens. Mark Warner of Virginia and Jon Tester of Montana, suggested leading up to the contest that progressive lawmakers’ refusal to allow a bipartisan infrastructure bill to pass the House without simultaneous approval of a broader reconciliation package could be at least partially to blame for a McAuliffe loss.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, made a similar point earlier this week. “I’ve watched all the attack ads on Terry McAuliffe and not a single one has talked about [infrastructure] not passing,” she said Monday. “They’ve all been about other things.”

In his Daily Beast column, Burns argued that “the worst thing that could possibly happen… is for the party’s conservatives to read McAuliffe’s loss as a sign that Americans are turned off by the Democratic agenda.”

https://nypost.com/2021/11/03/nj-gov-race-possible-recount-as-murphy-ciattarelli-neck-and-neck/

Private citizens in New Jersey are also allowed to apply for a recount in groups of at least 10 if they “have reason to believe that an error has been made in counting the votes upon any public question at any election.”

The recount requesters must pay for the recount themselves, though if any errors found in the recount change the election by more than 10 votes or 10 percent of the total vote cast — whichever is greater — the requesters will be refunded.

As of Wednesday morning, Murphy and Ciattarelli remained neck and neck, both holding around 49.6 percent of the total vote.

However, there are several counties including Essex — a largely Democratic county — that have yet to report their full ballot totals. It is unclear where the unreported votes will come from, but many are speculating they will be from mail-in ballots.
