FBI arrests Broken Arrow man who allegedly ran transnational child exploitation group.
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — The FBI has arrested several people, including a Broken Arrow man, for allegedly participating in a child exploitation chat group.
The investigation has led to arrests in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Arkansas, Missouri and Norway. It has also led to the rescue of multiple child victims in the U.S. and Europe.
In July 2021, the FBI discovered an online chat group that shared photos and videos of the sexual abuse of children.
It was found that Cameron McAbee was an administrator to the group, and also participated in sharing photos.
The FBI linked the administrator's account to McAbee's address in Broken Arrow, and executed a search warrant at the house that same day.
When McAbee was questioned by FBI agents, he confirmed that he was the administrator for the online group, and said he had traded images considered to be child pornography.
McAbee was arrested by the FBI along with Eric McCants of Texas, Michael McClure of Florida and Jeffrey Prowant of Missouri. Arkansas authorities arrested James Bickerstaff of Arkansas.
Law enforcement in Norway arrested an unnamed subject.
