These are the same people who don't believe in Noah's flood. They say it is impossible that the whole world was covered in water. They say that it must have been a "regional flood" that covered the mountain tops of the Ararat Mountain Range which is as tall as the Rocky Mountains in the US.

I think if there was enough water to cover the Rocky Mountains, people would call that more than a "regional flood"

I'm sure there were many, many versions of that story that were told over the course of history.

It's a pretty big story.

Imagine if your great, great, great, great, great grandfather was Shem, Ham, or Japheth, who all spread out in different geographical directions, how many times would that story have been repeated verbally over and over and over.

Do verbal stories change over time? Do different versions of the stories evolve?

By the time the story is written down, because people probably thought, hey, this story is worth writing down, there might be a few versions of it. Does that make it not true?
