just by serendipity I was sorting books yesterday, and I always spot check a few pages.

Check out the "Y" sign on the cover; which I didn't even notice til now.

This one is called "The Diviners" by Rick Moody

The setting is TV movie industry?

Brooklyn? Moody's home

The mother is in a Mental Ward. The daughter calls on the pay phone in the ward.

Daughter doesn't believe what mother witnessed.

Book publishing date 2005

Mother overheard a phone call in the psych ward.

daughter is trying to break into the movie business.

There was a hip hop artist trying to break into acting named "Mercurio" (name going back to alchemy / secrets) . M. was trying to make a deal with people in the office the daughter worked in. And was offering a bribe "I can put you in touch with people"

"was there anything else?" the daughter asked

(mother had overheard conversation)

"doughnuts"

"What kind of doughnuts?"

"I think they were mentioning Krispy Kreme doughnuts"

"Are you sure? Are you sure this telephone call had something to do with Krispy Kreme doughnuts? Mom I need to know"

[] You're going to believe what you're going to believe because you never had a tablespoon of respect. They were watching television in the lounge, and I was overhearing a telephone call between those… between Madison from the office and some black man… they were talking about financing… and then they were talking about doughnuts."

"they were talking about how I brought in doughnuts to the office the other day, Mom? Was that what they were saying?"

"They were talking about money .. they were talking about getting money from the doughnut company. Somehow the future hinged on doughnuts."

"You're kidding me Mom."

also, a book summarizing UFO area 51 research from the '90's mentioned "Q" clearance.

Looked over that book yesterday too.

And found the reference:

They said the different level clearances were blocked from each other. There are different "rooms" on each level.

So maybe this board is how the q team communicate with each other?

the doughnut reference was ~around page 237 in the first edition.

Moody's first name is "Hiram" as in "Hiram Abif"

The reference to the "Q" clearance in the book "Dreamland" wrote:

Has anybody ever thought the "Q" is reference to "Quantum" i.e. non-localization?
