Don't want to sound harsh, but if you're not homesteading with your 13 sons and 4 daughters on 20 acres next to the Amish while your wife is taming wild horses and you're making ends meet raising cattle and milking goats each morning, then according to the prepper crowd on this board, you are doing it wrong.
As a fellow gen X parent, you are competing for their attention. Think screen time reduction. That's usually a good start. If you aren't aware of the content they are pumping into their heads, makes yourself aware, and like another anon said, get yourself into meme territory to influence them. But definitely reduce screen time.
