Barn cats, basically…but no barn, just a massive rat problem that defied every effort until cats were employed and they completely solved the problem. Comes with its own set of issues but easily SO worth it.

Did the Indian water traps and these work crazy good…except the rats scream when they're drowning and it is especially disturbing around 3 am when you're trying to sleep. Cats work silently and very efficiently.

Terriers are awesome, but not a great fit for the property where needed…I'm a dog guy, but recognize some niches belong to cats after thousands of years of codependency.

I'll stick to what's working perfectly. We could fill up the bread with all the stuff I had tried. With just a few cats around, I have ZERO rats. And I live in a salt marsh full of them. They just stay away now or never make it very far and I don't have to deal with their bodies. Now if I could just convince the cats that the racoons are not their friends either…they just act like their big cats. Big destructive cats.
