Lets try something.
The first world is the allmighty God's kingdom. This is where ideas are born, and where the idea of you originates.
The second world is the mind, where you fully exist and where you can exert absolute dominion. The only hard limitations which exist for you in this world result from the ideas which gave birth to you.
The third world is the physical domain, which is a collaborative manifestation of many individuals. In this world you are wholly incapable of accomplishing anything at all without the cooperation of things which are external to yourself. Not even your own body will obey your will absolutely.
Through deception we are led to believe that the physical domain is the only world which truly exists. When we accept this perspective we become enslaved to the collective will of our surroundings, and through manipulation of that we can be coerced to act in manners which are entirely contradictory to our own will. Yet because we retain absolute domain over our will, we then adjust our will so as to not conflict with our actions in the physical domain.
One possibility which seems likely to me is that they designed the world so that it will automatically destroy itself if they are not actively present, so in order to remove them there is a lot of work to be done re-shaping our world so that it can survive their absence.
