Superyacht Sales Surged in 2021 as Billionaires Added Trillions in Wealth Amid Pandemic - Report

Sales of massive luxury superyachts spiked in 2021 compared to 2019, an industry publication revealed on Monday. The COVID-19 pandemic and its associated economic crisis has seen an incredible transfer of wealth into the coffers of the world’s richest people.

The Superyacht Group reported on Monday that sales of luxury vessels longer than 30 meters (98 feet) increased by 8% between January and October of 2021 as compared to the same period in 2019.

That translates to more than 200 new boats hitting the water in 2021, as compared to 165 in 2019. On top of that, another 330 have been ordered to be ready before the end of next year.

"Some have seen that their ultra-rich friends who own yachts had a nice time during the pandemic, while they had to lock themselves at home," Pepe Garcia, chairman of Spanish shipyards MB92, the world's leading superyacht refit firm, told Reuters. "I think this phenomenon is going to last for a few years."

Brokers Fraser Yachts told Reuters that "2021 is significantly outperforming any of the last 12 years.”

Owning such a vessel, which can cost up to $500 million, is a mark of the world’s richest humans, placing you among the ranks of Jeff Bezos, Jack Ma, and David Geffen, the lattermost of whom drew no shortage of resentment by the world proletariat after announcing at the start of the pandemic that he was “self-isolating” on his superyacht “Rising Sun” in the Grenadines, a Caribbean island chain.

Helping drive the massive purchases has been a huge upward transfer of wealth since March 2020, when the spread of COVID-19 became a global pandemic, bringing mass social lockdowns and demand for a host of new goods ranging from electronics to facilitate distance working, learning and socializing, to delivery services like DoorDash, to medical safety items like masks, swabs and gowns, and the most notorious investment project: COVID-19 vaccines.

Joe Biden’s administration just gave $5 million taxpayer dollars to a United Nations program that provides deadly abortion drugs and devices to women across the world.

The U.S. Department of State announced the new funding Monday for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Supplies program.

Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman praised the program for “empowering women and girls, including by promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights, advances human rights, gender equality and global health.”

UNFPA Supplies provides maternal health care supplies and contraception in countries affected by humanitarian emergencies. However, it also works with abortion groups to distribute non-essential, life-destroying abortion drugs and devices to vulnerable women and girls, said Rebecca Oas, Ph.D., director of research at C-Fam.

This is not a surprise. Biden claimed he would fund abortions during the Democrat debates.

“We Will Not Comply” – Thousands – Including City Workers, LAPD Officers, and Firemen – Gather Outside Los Angeles City Hall to Protest Upcoming Deadline for Covid Vaccine Mandates

On Monday morning, thousands of citizens gathered in Grand Park outside Los Angeles City Hall to protest the city’s authoritarian vaccine mandate. A large percentage of the crowd – if not the majority – were municipal workers, including members of the LAPD and LAFD, as well as employees of several other city departments.

Los Angeles’ citywide deadline for its employees to get the jab is set to kick in on December 18th. Anyone who is not vaccinated by that time will be fired from their jobs unless they have obtained an exemption – and we all know how likely they are to hand one of those out… ‘when pigs fly.’

The city’s policy is one of the strictest in the nation, and also includes a restrictive mandate on all LA residents that kicked in on November 4th. Proof of vaccination is now required for anyone aged 12 and up to enter the majority of indoor areas, including gyms, restaurants, bars, sporting events (indoor or outdoor), and several other common day-to-day locations, which only fueled the public outrage in the lead up to this massive protest.

The “the March for Freedom Rally” was organized by the local group “Firefighters 4 Freedom,” which is a nonprofit organization that was founded by LA firefighter John Knox in order to stand up against medical tyranny in the wake of Covid-19.

The rally featured several speakers throughout the morning who all shared the same message: “Stop the mandated vaccinations.”

Several city employees even said outright that they were willing to lose their jobs before taking the experimental jab during interviews with local news outlets.

“Dozens of people among the crowd were wearing clothes designating their employment with the Los Angeles city and county fire departments, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and other government agencies.

Many people who appeared to be government employees declined to be interviewed, but a few employees said they were prepared to lose their job over the city’s vaccination mandate, which gives them until Dec. 18 to comply.“

Florida Gov. DeSantis Announces Start of 2022 Reelection Campaign Based on State's 'Freedom'

DeSantis, publicly known for consistently standing up to the federally imposed COVID-19 restrictive measures, such as mask and vaccine mandates, was first elected in 2018, and his current term will end in January 2023.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced his intention to run for re-election in 2022 on Monday, claiming that he has "delivered on all fronts" during his first term in office and telling US media that he has "only just begun to fight."

DeSantis officially launched his re-election campaign by filing papers and updating his website for campaigning purposes.

"When I became governor, I pledged to foster economic opportunity, support K-12 education, usher in a new era for Florida’s Everglades and water resources, ensure the integrity of our elections and stand for public safety and the rule of law," DeSantis said in a press release.

The governor stressed that he has "delivered on all fronts" during his current term.

"Florida’s economy is strong, we’ve boosted teacher pay, made historic investments in Everglades restoration and water quality, signed strong election integrity legislation," he said, listing his accomplishments, adding that his administration "provided unparalleled support for law enforcement and appointed strong constitutionalists to our state courts."

DeSantis also claimed that he "protected individual Floridians and small businesses by keeping Florida open" and that he "stood up for students and parents by ensuring schools provided in-person instruction and by championing the rights of parents."

"We’ve also taken on Big Tech censorship, banned sanctuary cities, ensured that municipalities cannot defund law enforcement and stood up to the Biden regime," he added.

"And I’ve only just begun to fight," he concluded.

On his personal Twitter, the governor added that he strengthened the electoral process in his state, apparently hinting at allegations of multiple irregularities during the recent 2020 presidential election.

Peter Navarro: Millions Died Because ‘Sociopath’ Fauci Withheld Details of Wuhan Lab from Trump Administration

Peter Navarro, former White House director of trade and manufacturing policy, said millions of people died because Dr. Anthony Fauci, President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, withheld information regarding his approval of funding for gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

“I can’t tell you how toxic that man is,” Navarro, author of In Trump Time: My Journal of America’s Plague Year, said on Monday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow. “He’s a sociopath. He’s a narcissist.”

He continued, “[Fauci’s] biggest lie was not to Rand Paul and Congress about gain-of-function experimentations, per se. His lie of omission was not to tell us — the president’s task force — in January that he strongly suspected, as he did, that that virus was from a lab in Wuhan, that he had funded that lab, and that he had authorized gain-of-function experiments which can turn harmless bat viruses into human killers.”

"Fauci had to know,” he added. “Fauci had to friggin’ know exactly what was going on. He held it from us. Millions of people — I can’t stress how important this is, if we had known then what we know now — we could have saved millions of lives if Fauci had just come clean.”

Navaro said Fauci was opposed to banning travel to the U.S. from any country as early as January 2020.

“[On] January 28th, 2020, President Trump has made the decision but not yet announced that he would pull down travel from communist China, and he’s been very serious about this,” he shared. “Basically, at that point, three people in the White House who were deeply concerned about the pandemic [are] the boss, it’s Robert O’Brien’s, the national security adviser, and myself.”

Former White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and former Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CSC) Robert Redfield obstructed Trump’s intent to implement a “travel ban” to prevent coronavirus transmission in the U.S. from abroad, Navarro shared.

“There are four people [in the Situation Room] that are going to give me trouble,” he recalled. “[Mick] Mulvaney, acting chief of staff, I’ve got one of Pompeo’s hacks there, the bumbling [Robert] Redfield, and of course [Alex] Azar, the secretary of Health and Human Services, but sitting across from me is little guy with little round glasses who I immediately get into a violent argument with and he just keeps insisting that travel bans don’t work. It’s like Flaubert’s parrot.”

He went on, “I’m thinking to myself, ‘Who is this guy?’ Finally, I say to [Fauci], ‘Dude’ — and I actually called him ‘dude,’ I didn’t know I should have addressed him as Dr. Fauci at the time — I go, ‘Dude, you mean to tell me if there’s like 20,000 Chinese nationals coming in every day to Kennedy and Dulles and LAX and O’Hare — many of them lit up with the Wuhan virus like a Christmas tree — that [they should] just come on down?'”

Fauci “just kept saying travel bans don’t work,” Navarro emphasized. He said Fauci advised Trump “not to worry” about the coronavirus in January 2020.

“One of the missions of the book is to get Fauci out of government and into a jail cell,” he remarked.

Navarro contemplated the possibility of the Chinese Communist Party deliberately releasing the coronavirus as part of a broader geopolitical strategy to undermine the Trump administration and America, more broadly.

“It doesn’t matter if this thing accidentally escaped from the lab. What matters is that what China did afterwards. … Communist China guaranteed this thing would become a pandemic that would eventually kill millions worldwide,” he estimated.

“If you think about it, China has gained relative to the United States and the rest the world because of this thing. … These are perilous times, and China’s resumed its rise after four years of kowtowing to Donald John Trump,” he concluded.

Queensland to impose COVID-19 restrictions on unvaccinated people from December, no new local cases

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced there will be greater freedoms granted to Queenslanders fully vaccinated against COVID-19 from next month.

Key points:

The easing of restrictions will only apply for those who are fully vaccinated

Hospitals, aged care facilities and prisons will also require both doses

Acting Chief Health Officer warned the freedoms and reopened borders would bring new COVID-19 cases

The measures take effect from December 17, or once the state reaches 80 per cent of the Queensland population 16 years and over being fully vaccinated.

It comes as Queensland records another day of zero locally acquired cases, and one in hotel quarantine.

The Premier said pubs, clubs, nightclubs, hotels, restaurants and music venues will be free from all restrictions provided all patrons and staff are fully vaccinated.

There will be no limit on weddings where all the guests are fully vaccinated, with police set to enforce requirements for venues.

Only fully vaccinated people will be able to visit hospitals, aged care facilities, prisons and disability services, except in end-of-life or emergency situations.

These rules only apply to people over 16 years of age who are eligible to be vaccinated.

Mask restrictions where you can socially distance will also lift once the first dose rate of Queenslanders over 16 hits 80 per cent, which is expected today or tomorrow.

Ms Palaszczuk said people who have done the right thing deserve to be compensated.

"Today we are taking another small but important step on our road to keeping our freedoms," she said.

"I've always said, as Premier, I am determined to unite Queenslanders and we have been united in our fight against this Delta virus.

"But now we need to all be united in our effort to get vaccinated.

"People should be rewarded for what they have done so far and I want to thank Queenslanders for everything they have done."

She said the Check In Qld app would be updated to include vaccination status.

"When you arrive at a venue you will have to show your check-in app and by, I think, the 17th of November you'll be able to register your vaccine on your check in app," she said.

"So it's going to be very easy, very seamless for people just to get out their phones and do exactly what they've been doing now to show that they are vaccinated but also to staff at these venues who will also need to be vaccinated as well."

Targeting 'fence-sitters' key to improving Queensland's COVID-19 vaccination rates before state opens up

The Queensland government needs to do more to target "fence-sitters" and smarter, stronger marketing strategies are needed to boost vaccination uptake and get the state over the finish line before borders reopen, experts warn.

While Australia has reached the 80 per cent full vaccination target of those over 16, Queensland is still playing catch-up.

Queensland is expected to reach the 80 per cent single-dose COVID-19 vaccination of those over 16 milestone today — the rate currently sits at 79.6 per cent.

According to the latest figures, 67.4 per cent of Queenslanders aged 16 and older are fully vaccinated.

However, jab rates in regional areas are still lagging behind – and time is of the essence.

The Queensland government released its roadmap to reopening the state's borders last month, but this has not resulted in a notable spike in vaccination uptake.

In the past week, Cairns has had a 2.1 per cent increase in first doses, central Queensland recorded growth of 2.5 per cent and Ipswich 2 per cent.

The Gold Coast recorded first dose growth of just 1.8 per cent.

Today Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced there will be greater freedoms granted to Queenslanders fully vaccinated against COVID-19 from next month.

Marketing experts suggest appealing to 'FOMO'

Griffith University consumer behaviour expert Joy Parkinson said government efforts should focus on convincing "fence-sitters" or the vaccine-hesitant.

"There's always a certain part of the population that are really hard to get to – to change their behaviours, whether that's to get them to give up smoking or to even wear a seatbelt, they're hesitant," she said.
