As a former Federal Law Enforcement Officer I am extremely disgusted at the FBI even apending one resource hour investigating a alleged low-level crime for "stealing" a book, which would have been laughed at by any local, municipal, county police force. Local cops wouldn't persue this with a raid, so why the FBI? A simple field interview would suffice, but even this would likely not happen because the elements for a theft usually have an assigned dollar amount trigger depending on the local/state laws. Federal Law doest drill down to a singular book or personal item theft. Additionally elements of a crime must be met to establish probable cause, OTHERWISE, it is a False Arrest in violation of the First and Forth Amendments. So on this issue alone he should sue the FBI, Prosecutor, and Judge who approved the Search Warrant.

As former Presidential Security, if there was some perceived threat against a Family Member of the President, the U.S. Secret Service and/or Homeland Security would investigate. This wouldn't be a threat against the Safety of a Family member so in fact they didn't touch this with a vaccinated crowbar.
What this does highlight is the abuse of authority by the FBI and DOJ, which falls part and parcel under the very activities John Durham is investigating. So let's see what happens.
