Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs awarded $1 million total in grants to 118 groups aimed at encouraging residents to reengage with arts and cultural experiences. The grants were created with funds from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act.

 

 

The City of Dubuque is among a group of local organizations receiving grants to promote arts and cultural experiences following the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

The city’s Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs is receiving $15,000 to work with Travel Dubuque to launch a marketing plan and tourism strategy “to showcase the variety of creativity, events, venues, and cultural experiences in the community,” according to a press release from the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs.

 

The department awarded $1 million total in grants to 118 groups aimed at encouraging residents to reengage with arts and cultural experiences. The grants were created with funds from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act.

Julien Dubuque International Film Festival in Dubuque, $3,500.

Loras College Center for Dubuque History, $1,500.

Steeple Square in Dubuque, $8,800.

Ohnward Fine Arts Center in Maquoketa, $7,500.
