[Singapore’s Government Investment Corporation] was set up in 1981 to manage the country’s foreign exchange reserves. The Ministry of Finance of Singapore determines the investment strategies of the Government Investment Corporation of Singapore, and the fund has had close ties to the government even though it was founded as a private company.
