Lawfag here. Why stop the prosecutor when he is digging a deeper hole. Clearly, Kyle can handle himself on the stand extremely well. The jury knows, if they have been paying attention throughout this trial, Kyle acted in self-defense. The jury is already thinking how traumatic this all must be for the kid. Now they see this prosecutor cajole and harass Kyle over and over. Let Binger hang himself. He is going down in flames quite nicely. Also, the judge is playing clean up here making sure Binger does not stray too far from his line of questioning. I would say at about this point the jury is hating Binger quite nicely. The defense fairs better at this point to not interrrupt because they are winning BIGLY.

Better for defense to get in and out without redirect. Always the case when you sit down after questioning a witness you might want another shot at saying something. Don’t give them the opportunity at another bite of the apple,

It is always dicey putting your client on the standing, but Jurors ALWAYS want to hear the story directly from the client’s own words and in this case, they received Kyle’s story directly from him. I think it doesn’t matter what most of the defense’s following witnesses have to say, the jury probably is already on Kyle’s side. Juries love to pick sides. It was an excellent move on defense’s part to have Kyle take the stand. They might now want to go back and re-evaluate their witness list and shorten it. Hell, they are done in my mind if I was a juror.
