this is not only about the incident with rittenhouse, this is about gun rights and whether you are allowed to defend yourself against attackers who are robbing and trying to kill you.
there was a case in the uk where a farmer shot someone in his property trying to rob him and he was put in jail because of excessive force.
ended up with even more control on rural properties where the person cannot rely on the police to get to them in time.
