In some cities they give special training to police in this.
But still, if the police take a person in to the hospital, the hospital will not wait til the patient is stabilized, but just release them.
So the police will be on a "fruit loop"
Otherwise, if they bring them in, the hospital often won't admit the person.
Sorta like with the Kyle case.
