Check this out. Maybe the fed gov is testing out this tactic in one city right now. If it lowers crime and violence, perhaps roll it out in other cities. Trump told blacks he would do something about violence in their city communities.

Federal agents, local police nab 155 people wanted on drug, gun charges

The U.S. Marshal Service announced Monday a major roundup of more than 150 fugitives, mostly in St. Louis city, wanted on drug and gun charges.

Most were arrested last week in St. Louis city and St. Louis County. Some were tracked out of state.

This is part of an initiative to arrest dangerous felons.

"It's going to continue throughout the summer, and then we will re-evaluate if we're making an impact on curbing the violence in the city and county," Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal James Tapp told the Post-Dispatch.

About 115 officers from various agencies helped with the initiative, Tapp said. They included U.S. marshals, agents from the FBI and DEA, Social Security Administration, Homeland Security, and police officers from St. Louis, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, St. Ann, Perry County, Highway Patrol, Florissant, Hazelwood, Richmond Heights and the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force.

Tapp said police seized 23 firearms that were either stolen or possessed illegally, a half ounce of suspected heroin and ecstasy, and two pounds of marijuana.

Tapp said the initiative's focus is on violent crime, drug organizations, sex offenders, and gang members who have active felony warrants.

St. Louis Public Safety Director Jimmie M. Edwards said in a news release, "I am grateful to all of the law enforcement agencies that participated in helping to make the City of St. Louis safe. I applaud the very successful efforts to arrest wanted people in our region. We are very serious about addressing crime in the City of St. Louis.”
