i stopped by this location again today, this time decided i would get a closer look. turns out the sign is not made of metal like it appears, it is actually plastic. i cut the thing off the pole, hence had to leave a piece of it behind, the piece that was secured by nut and bolt.
score one for the internet/anons
im not gonna waste my time standing in the intersection to remove a couple nuts when its much easier to use my knife (a tool) to tear off the plastic piece of shit.
also, yes i do carry a tool that could easily remove nuts of any size, but i wanted to choose the faster option given the exposed nature of the location
also also, i figured the sign didnt deserve my respect to treat it carefully, that cutting it into pieces was a fitting end for something threatening to end the internet.
