The Sunwendmann,

where does he come from?

Over meadows and fields,

over mountains and forests,

from the wide, wide sea,

that's where he comes from.

How does he enter?

On a shining white horse

like the sun in the sky,

full of reflecting glow,

That's how he enters.

The Sunwendmann,

What does he bring with him?

Delicious gifts

for girls and boys,

that are of good morals;

that's what he brings.

The Sunwendmann,

How does he hand it out?

He puts them stealthily,

where they are easy to get,

at the window, in front of the house,

That's how he hands them out.
