Something to think about. At the end of the Babylonian captivity, Cyrus told the Jews they were free to go. He gave them back all their shit along with some money and told them they were free to return to their own land. How many actually took him up on the offer? Out of potentially at least 1 million people, only about roughly 40 to 50k people even bothered to go back. Think about that. WHY so few? Were some happy with the paganism they found in Babylon? Did they get rich? Why would they be unwilling to return to their own land?

Now, same sort of scenario, Jesus the Messiah comes along and frees us from the captivity of sin, gives us our things and renders some aid to return to where we belong. How many people are happy to stay where they are, and how many will return to their land? Just a small percentage? History repeats itself.

Not sure where you get the 1 in 8 from Egypt. In fact, quite a few Egyptians came with Moses as well. Think about that. Egyptians would be considered, "gentiles," but became part of the, "body."

The Hebrew calendar and Gregorian calendar do not equate to the same thing. Sunset Friday to sunset Saturday, is the actual ordained Sabbath. But as Jesus said, the Sabbath was created FOR man, not the other way around.

Mat 12:1  At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

Mat 12:2  But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

Mat 12:3  But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

Mat 12:4  How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

Mat 12:5  Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

Mat 12:6  But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

Mat 12:7  But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

Mat 12:8  For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Mat 12:9  And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

Mat 12:10  And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

Mat 12:11  And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

Mat 12:12  How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

Mat 12:13  Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

Mat 12:14  Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

Mar 2:23  And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.

Mar 2:24  And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?

Mar 2:25  And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?

Mar 2:26  How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?

Mar 2:27  And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

Mar 2:28  Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Joh 7:19  Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

Joh 7:20  The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

Joh 7:21  Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.

Joh 7:22  Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

Joh 7:23  If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

Joh 7:24  Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

You know, I tried to do a little digging on the prosecuting asshole, but there seems to be very little on him. Seems, rather convenient if you ask me. Of course, clown assets don't have much background info readily available either.
