I tried to explain this simple fact to some of the employees at my local county office, when they were going around shutting down business because of sniffles-n-shits, and thus how would/could they expect to keep getting paid???

Pointed out something similar to a group of wayward LEOs once, one actually used the comeback that he was certain that his paycheck wasn’t dependent on the Public Approval of his job.
That was some time ago, and i do wonder if he’s changed his mind, even just a little.
