The Trilithon of the Temple of Jupiter is not the only one of its kind. There are also 3 identical blocks in the quarry. One of them is called, for a strange, reason Hajar el hebleh = the pregnant stone. It’s more than certain that the Trilithon came from this quarry and the 3 blocks you see still in it were also being cut in the quarry to be, later on, taken to the temple’s site. But one of these megaliths in the quarry cracked while it was being cut in the quarry, so it was abandoned. We don’t know what exactly happened for the work in the quarry to have stopped and the other blocks to be abandoned like this.

As I’ve said before, we believe the stones of Baaklbek, either the Trilithon or those in the quarry, are the biggest megaliths in the entire world. No one can explain how these blocks were carved out, transported to the site and lifted in place…mostly by whom.

The megalithic stones are not the only notables in the quarry. The bedrock of the quarries was also carved and used as a cemetery. We don’t know exactly when or by whom it was done.

There are also “strange” caves in Baalbek city which no one has information about and when they were used and by whom. I think the pictures can speak for themselves.

It always amazes me how modern construction was built on top of these ancient sites. How could modern day people live side by side with ancient monuments and make them part of their daily life.

The last thing I want to show anons in Baalbek are these blocks, right on the side of the road, part of the daily life and houses build on top of them and right next to them. It’s amazing, isn’t it?
