The capital of the column in the last picture is from the Roman era. Its size is impressive. We think such blocks are re-used by the Romans, recurved, and decorated by the Romans. There are also stairs, passage ways, going upstairs or downstairs.

The site of Hebbariyeh also holds a little surprise within it. It has an arched basement which we think is the oldest part of the temple. Just look at the size of the blocks. This site has been re-used by the Romans and it’s very obvious. We think such “basements” are used for storage, just like the Cryptoportique of Baalbek was = both having same function.
