Yes, some abused the witchcraft laws to advance their own interests and some innocents were killed due to poor application of the laws and/or silly lore that had grown up around the subject.

however, the predicament we are currently in shows that satanism/witchcraft are alive and well, and present a very real danger to the people. The so-called Enlightenment and Scientific Revolution were largely psyops intended by the cabbalists to dissuade folks from investigating the occult and taking it seriously, allowing the cabal to do its evil unchecked and without scrutiny.
