The Congress2013 Movie
I'm gonna spoiler this, because it was the stupidest fucking movie I've ever seen, need to spare other anons the pain of watching this wretched waste of effort.
BUT THE PLOTtalk about predictive…this was 2013… it involves a future in which people go on digital immersion 'trips' by swallowing a pill. Once immersed, they discover there is no way out, but most of them don't WANT out. They spend their lives in a cartoon fantasy land, where they can be anyone, do anything, and no rules apply. It is a dopamine escape-mechanism for people to not have to deal with reality….
In the end, the girl finds a way to wake up. 20 years have passed by, but she sees the world has become a hopeless, filthy place where people are zombified as they go through the motions of daily life while actually being immersed in the digital realm. No one is having children. Humanity will die out. A select few who run the system live in airships moored above the wasteland, sadly watching people choose the 'other world' over the real world.
I imagine whoever wrote this was tripping on LSD. I point this out because of some of the intriguing parallels that Metaverse may bring about in the near future.
