I think he was actively listening in on their discord voicechat or text chat, where they were planning on what they were going to slide the board with or the next story to make up to convince normies/youtube community, ect ect, that Q is a larp. didnt seem like genuine black hat chatter, more like shilly/slide chatter thats hitting the boards.
