As a commoner, not in any kind of Uniformed LEO job, i have nonetheless felt it imperative that my protection and for those around me, was on me… ‘call the cops’ to take a report, investigate, draw the chalk lines, whateves. However, the public sentiment toward the public’s guns has been very poor for decades. ONLY because of that, did i carry concealed for thirty years.
Last year, after the Big Guy’s Installation… got out my old west leather and sixshooter (with five rounds), and carried openly for my first time ever. (Now my old primary is my ‘kept’ backup.)
Most likely because it’s oldie fashioned looking, i have gotten plenty of positive comments and encouragement from strangers. Very rare to get any side-eye huff, most likely BECAUSE of all the CityBurners last year. On balance, it has been a net positive.
I’ve never seen so many other commoners like myself, openly carrying now over this past year. Again, on balance, i think this is a good thing. ‘An armed society is a polite society.’
I’m very glad for Kyle, America, our heritage with the 2A, and hopefully for the world in the long run.
May our 1A see/hear a similar Renaissance.
