Yeah, the time jump is a well known Web thingy.

On decent volume and higher sites there are multiple servers on the front end facing the web traffic.

It's called Load Balancing and they collect the posts first and and in 8kun's case apparently timestamp them.

Then they send it to the backend db server where the page we're viewing gets them from.

What happens is the backend can have an issue time-wise (a burp) getting one from a front-end so a later one from a different front-end gets in ahead of it.

If Crip had coded 8kun instead of CM he prolly would have had the back-end server create the timestamp and not the front-end collecting ones.

I say that because I don't recall seeing them on 8ch but could be wrong.
