Kenosha Protesters: from Milwaukee/Seattle
Omar Flores of the Milwaukee [Alliance Against Racist and Political Oppression] speaks at a press conference Thursday in Kenosha
A video posted online shows a man wearing a U.S. Marshal uniform along with police pointing guns at a van stopped near a gas station, then breaking the van's window and taking passengers away in vehicles without markings or license plates.
The people in the van were part of Riot Kitchen 206, a Seattle nonprofit that provides food for protesters. A board member with the organization called the arrests "a nightmare."

Angela Davis will be in Chicago to re-establish the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (NAARPR).
This week, the 29,000-member [Service Employees International Union] [(SEIU)] Local 73 in Chicago added its name to the growing number of unions that have endorsed the conference.
Other unions involved in the conference include:
United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE)
American Federation of Teachers
American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees
[see Economic Policy Institute (EPI) at bottom for more on these unions]
Unions began taking a stand on the issues of racist police violence after Michael Brown was shot and killed in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014.
AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka called for unions to rally for justice for Brown’s family. Brown’s mother, Lesley McSpadden, is a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW).
