If a wifi antenna can be used to reproduce a 3d map of a room, which has been shown to be possible, then it is not that much more effort to have a cell phone target the inside of someone's head to introduce the trauma, then simply transmit the necessary programming instructions to the target. You could even verify that the target was alone before transmitting the same way.
