Queen’s ‘hunched' appearance exposed royal's 'heartbreaking' emotional state, says expert

THE QUEEN "was slightly unstable on her feet" at Prince Philip's funeral, according to a body language expert who revealed what this showed about her inner emotions.

The Queen's "heartbreakingly devastating" image at Prince Philip's funeral has been analysed by a body language expert. Dr Louise Maher joined Australia's The Morning Show to dissect the appearances of members of the Royal Family at the Duke of Edinburgh's ceremony. She claimed that the monarch's physical presence matched how she would have been feeling on the inside.

Dr Maher told viewers: "I think the word for the Queen was 'heartbreaking'.

"It's for her that we had the tears during this funeral.

"She was hunched, she was slightly unstable on her feet.

"She seemed to be favouring one side."

She continued: "She was covered and she had her head down.

"So we didn't really see her face at all.

"But it was just heartbreakingly devastating."

The expert went on to explain why the social distancing rules actually made it "easier" to analyse appearances.

Dr Maher said: "We had the public stripped away so we had all of that movement and excitement taken away.

"We could just focus on what was important.

"Their role was just duty, discipline, respect."

She added: "It was for them to walk straight ahead, look straight ahead.
