Looks like the big issue will be the judge reframing the citizen's arrest law the day before the jury went out.
Judge instructed the jury that a citizen's arrest can only happen contemporaneously with the illegal event.
That could be the appeal issue. Defense built their case on citizen's arrest and the judge only reframed it before the jury went out.
Other mitigating factor being tossed about is that the perp could have run away, but chose to come back and tried to grab one of the shotguns. That's what is being discussed after the fact.
