Report: China is now the world's richest country
China has beat the U.S. to become the world’s richest nation, according to a new report.
Key findings: Global net worth soared from $156 million in 2000 to $514 trillion in 2020, making the world wealthier than it was at any point in history. China accounted for nearly a third of the increase, the report from management consultancy firm McKinsey & Company stated.
McKinsey analyzed the national balance sheets of 10 countries that represented 60% of the world’s income. Of these nations, China accounted for 50% of the growth in net worth, followed by the U.S. (22%) and Japan (11%).
The report found that China’s wealth rose from $7 trillion in 2000 to $120 trillion in 2020. The U.S., on the other hand, saw its wealth more than double to $90 trillion in the same period.

Supply Chain Nightmare: U.S. to Enforce Strict Vaccine Mandate for All Border Crossers in January
President Joe Biden will demand all essential foreign travelers entering the U.S. across land borders be fully vaccinated beginning on Jan. 22, the administration is planning to announce.
Government and emergency response officials along with truck drivers are just some of the groups to be targeted, with owner-operators and independent truckers predicted to be most impacted by the sweeping mandate.
The White House previewed the imposition back in August, as Breitbart News reported. The move aligns the rules for essential travelers with those that took effect earlier this month for leisure travelers, when the U.S. reopened its borders to fully vaccinated individuals.
Essential travelers entering by ferry will also be required to be fully vaccinated by the same date, according to an official who briefed the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.
The rule changes will only apply to legal land crossings into the country, even as tens of thousands of illegal border crossers have been freely entering the country since the Biden administration took office, as Breitbart News reported.

Federal prosecutors have claimed that surveillance video taken from outside Jeffrey Epstein’s jail cell on the day of his first apparent suicide attempt has been permanently deleted.
The Herald gathered that the federal prosecutors made this claim on Thursday in a court filing.
Epstein, the disgraced financier who was facing federal sex-trafficking charges, was found semiconscious in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, or MCC, in New York around 1:27 a.m. on July 23.
The prosecutors said that the video is now gone because MCC officials mistakenly saved footage from a different floor of the federal detention facility.

NEW YORK — New York City lawmakers are poised to allow more than 800,000 New Yorkers who are green card holders or have the legal right to work in the United States to vote in municipal elections and for local ballot initiatives.
The bill, known as “Our City, Our Vote,” would make New York City the largest municipality in the country to allow noncitizens to vote in local elections.
The legislation, expected to be approved by the City Council on Dec. 9 by a veto-proof margin, comes as the country is dealing with a swath of new laws to impose voter restrictions, as well as the economic and demographic effects of a decline in immigration.

Sweden’s first female PM resigns hours after being elected
Newly elected Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson has announced her resignation just hours after making history as the country’s first woman premier.
“I have told the speaker that I wish to resign as prime minister,” Andersson told reporters on Wednesday in Stockholm, after the coalition led by her Social Democratic Party unraveled. The 54-year-old Andersson is reportedly seeking new support after the Green Party quit the new ruling minority coalition in the wake of a budget defeat.
The coalition was to govern on a razor-thin margin of support after the new PM was elected on Wednesday with more votes against her than for her in parliament. The vote was 117 MPs for Andersson, Sweden’s finance minister, and 174 against her, with 57 lawmakers abstaining or absent. Swedish law allows prime ministers to be appointed and govern as long as a majority of the Riksdag – 175 MPs – doesn’t vote against them.

As if the liberty erasing connotations of vaccine passports were not enough on their own, it has been revealed that the Scottish government has allowed data from the scheme to be shared with private companies including Amazon.
The Daily Record reports, “We have learned the NHS mobile phone app which presents the personal medical information in the form of a QR Code shares data with companies including Amazon, Microsoft, ServiceNow, Royal Mail and an AI facial recognition firm.”
Users of the vaccine passport app were not informed their data would be shared, according to the report.
