I run linux on my laptop(s) for years, but started a new werk at home thing and it is an all windows thing…(so, mydesktop is faster and bigger screen(s).
I might try doing a dual boot, but dunno how accepting the overlordds will be…
You can download and run Open or Libre Office on yoru windows machine – runs fine for me and has for years (i did it at last office job on windows 7 & 10).
I don't forsee any issue for you…esp if you're running a 64bit machine which is basically standard now….and for a while.

if youre less interested, Linux Mint. but it's all the same (functional) vs. new and exciting crap / problems that MS will throw at you every day.

My bru'h is a programmer - uses it all the time and has tried to get me using it, but out of context, it really isn't intuitive.
I barely know shell stuff…..can search and destroy, but i'm really more at the GUI side of things for most of my work.
