Little did any of us realize, at the time, what that really meant. Takes a long, arduous journey through the muck to get some folks to wake up.

First thing I thought was "Oh; that was poor taste." I mean, I fucking laughed; don't get me wrong. It was a funny joke. But it would've been better received if she'd made a crack about having been married to her brother to circumvent immigration laws, or something. But like you say, people make mistakes.
