California's new educational guidelines say math is racist

The "color-blind" approach, they write, "allows such systemic inequities to continue."

California is set to adopt new math teaching principles that are based in critical race theory. These changes, which include deemphasizing calculus and pulling programs for academically gifted students, will "apply social justice principles to math lessons."

These guidelines do not instruct educators to teach critical race theory, but rather use critical race theory as a guide for the formation of teaching principles. Critical race theory is not being taught to students, but taught to teachers, who are then meant to use it to formulate their own practices.

The goal of the new math framework is "to maintain rigor while also helping remedy California's achievement gaps" for black, Latino, and poor students. the reason for the changes is that California students are falling behind in math.

"We were transforming math education, and change is hard and scary," Rebecca Pariso, a math teacher at Hueneme Elementary School District told the San Francisco Standard. "Especially if you don’t understand why that change needs to occur. But I didn’t expect it to go this far." The inspiration for these new guidelines came from San Francisco educational standards.

In the new guidelines, which will up for consideration prior to their potential adoption in July, reading in Chapter 2, "Teaching for Equity and Engagement," reads that "Cultural relevance is important for learning and also for expanding a collective sense of what mathematical communities look and sound like to reflect California’s diverse history."

Jordan Peterson spots another woke college math course

Jordan Peterson, the famed psychology professor, recently pointed out that his institution, the University of Toronto, is offering a “Liberating Mathematics” class.

The course description argues that “progress” in the discipline has been “led in large part by women mathematicians, in particular Black women, Indigenous women, and women from visible minorities” who offer “a daring critique of traditional mathematics, re-imagining of mathematics culture, and more.”

The description clarifies that the class is “restricted to first-year students.”

As Campus Reform spokeswoman Angela Morabito observed, several schools across the United States are now infusing mathematics courses with a “social justice” agenda.

The Kyle Rittenhouse case shined a bright light on the law as it relates to using a gun to protect yourself from another person or people threatening your life.

In Lubbock, TX, a similar situation will likely be headed to the courts, after a deadly November 5 confrontation between a boyfriend of a mom her ex-husband with whom she shares custody turned deadly on the front porch of the boyfriend’s home.

Video footage shows the boyfriend Kyle Carruth and Chad Read, the ex-husband of Christina Read in a heated argument over picking up his kids from Kyle’s home. The argument, that was taking place on the front porch of Carruth’s home led to the shooting death of Chad Read after Read attempted to wrestle for the gun.

Daily Mail – The footage, captured by Jennifer Read from a car parked on the street outside Kyle Carruth’s South Lubbock home, shows Chad Read arguing with his ex-wife and Carruth.

Kyle Carruth – wearing a black top and jeans – is heard telling Chad Read to ‘get off of my property. Chad Read, who is wearing a teal top and jeans, gesticulates with his arms as Carruth turns around to go inside the house.

Chad Read turns around and continues talking to Christina Read, telling her that he wants his son, who he was supposed to have custody of from 3:15 p.m that day, according to Jennifer Read in an affidavit filed after the incident.

‘I’m supposed to have him at 3.15,’ Chad Read is heard saying to Christina Read. ‘But you’re playing games telling me that I have to pick him up at six?’

The pair continue arguing, with Chad Read suggesting that his son is probably at his ex-wife’s mother’s house. Christina Read is heard telling him that she wanted to see him, to which Chad Read says: ‘I don’t care if you wanted to see him or not.
