Panic & lockdown as police respond to mall shooting (VIDEOS)
A mall in Durham, North Carolina has been put on lockdown following reports of shots fired. Videos show customers fleeing in panic and waiting in shuttered stores on what is traditionally the biggest shopping day of the year.
One video from the Southpoint Mall on Friday shows panicked shoppers running, after what someone said was an active shooting. At least one person was wounded by gunfire, councilmember Mark-Anthony Middleton told local media.

The mysterious and unexplained 'Havana Syndrome', first reported from the Cuban capital in 2017, strangely only seems to affect US diplomats and intelligence agents around the world — and has even struck in their own capital city.
The FBI has made the phantom "Havana Syndrome" — that saw embassy staff feel ill after hearing high-pitched chirping — its number one priority.
The federal police and counter-intelligence agency said some 200 overseas-based diplomatic staff and their families have experienced "anomalous health incidents".
The FBI told news agency Reuters the issue was "a top priority for the FBI, as the protection, health and well-being of our employees and colleagues across the federal government is paramount."
The unexplained set of symptoms was first reported in early 2017 by US and Canadian embassy staff in the Cuban capital, just after then-president Donald Trump took office and a year and a half after the US and Cuba restored diplomatic relations after a 54-year hiatus.

Biden backtracks on oil drilling ban
US President Joe Biden will apparently allow new leasing of federal lands for oil and natural-gas exploration, though with new restrictions and higher fees on producers, rather than fulfill a campaign promise to halt drilling.
The US Department of Interior issued a long-awaited report on the government’s minerals leasing programs on Friday, recommending that new sales be limited to areas where oil and gas infrastructure already exists. While the plan would prevent opening up new drilling frontiers, such as the Atlantic Seaboard, it allows oil companies to lease new exploration prospects near established fields in places such as the Gulf of Mexico.
Other recommendations include demanding increased royalty payments from oil companies, as well as higher bond payments set aside to cover future cleanup costs.
“Our nation faces a profound climate crisis that is impacting every American,” Interior Secretary Deb Haaland said in a statement. “The Interior Department has an obligation to responsibly manage our public lands and waters – providing a fair return to the taxpayer and mitigating worsening climate impacts – while staying steadfast in the pursuit of environmental justice.”
Biden had already raised the ire of environmental activists earlier this month, when his administration went through with a record offshore lease sale just days after the president spoke at the COP26 summit in Scotland, calling climate change an “existential threat to human existence” and demanding “transformative action.”

The Notre Dame, which was burned down in a mysterious fire in 2019 is being rebuilt as a “woke theme park.”
Instead of rebuilding the historical cathedral as a religious monument, the reconstruction of Notre Dame will be revamped with a “discovery trail” that will lead visitors through 14 themed chapels of varying woke quantities dedicated to social justice, designed to be accessible for non-Catholics.
Using the church arson as a means to “Build Back Better,” each of the chapels will be dedicated to social justice issues, including a chapel dedicated to the environment and others with African and Asian themes.
According to critics who have reviewed plans for the fire-ravaged cathedral, confessional boxes, alters, and classical sculptures are being replaced by trendy art murals, with sound and special lighting effects to create “emotional spaces.”
