Omar calls on House leadership to take 'appropriate action' against Boebert after Islamophobic comments

WASHINGTON – Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., is calling on House leadership to "take appropriate action" against Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., after the GOP congresswoman made Islamophobic comments towards her during a campaign event.

The comments were posted to Twitter on Thursday by PatriotTakes – who says their mission is to "research, monitor and expose the extremism and radicalization of the far right" – in a video that showed Boebert recounting a supposed run-in with Omar at the U.S. Capitol grounds.

Boebert told a tale of joining an elevator with Omar – the first Somali American elected to Congress – which supposedly made a United States Capitol Police officer rush toward them with "fret all over his face." She said she responded to the officer that Omar didn't "have a backpack. We should be fine."

The crowd at the event laughed, applauded and jeered at the comment that implied the Minnesota lawmaker was a terrorist.

Boebert told the crowd she turned toward Omar in the elevator and said, "'Oh look, the Jihad Squad decided to show up for work today.'"

Omar responded to the video, denying the story and saying the "whole story is made up." She continued: "Sad she thinks bigotry gets her clout."

"Anti-Muslim bigotry isn’t funny & shouldn’t be normalized. Congress can’t be a place where hateful and dangerous Muslims tropes get no condemnation."

Hey Anon's, are you "Rattled?"

Think that ship has sailed long ago. The constant in-fighting was primed with Trump and Sessions. Not sure what the game is, but not playing.

QAnon Believers Rattled After Kyle Rittenhouse Calls Extremist Lawyer Lin Wood 'Insane'

QAnon followers were taken aback this week when acquitted gunman Kyle Rittenhouse slammed extremist lawyer and longtime QAnon acolyte Lin Wood as “insane.”

As Rittenhouse and Wood faced off against each other, QAnon backers were speaking out in support of the lawyer — or the gunman — indicating a possible fracture in the far-right conspiracy movement.

Wood, who is known for pushing Donald Trump’s election lies as a member of the former president’s legal team, was one of Rittenhouse’s first attorneys after the teen was arrested last year for fatally shooting two unarmed men and wounding a third with at a protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Rittenhouse said in an interview on the cable channel NewsNation on Tuesday that he and his mother fired Wood last December because “he was going on with all this QAnon and election fraud stuff, and just stuff we don’t agree with.”

He added: “He’s insane. … He thinks he’s God and he just says all these weird things.”

Rittenhouse has also accused Wood of mishandling money the attorney raised to bail him out.

Rittenhouse told Tucker Carlson on Fox News that Wood raised $2 million for bail, but then advised the teen to stay in jail where he would be “safer” for a total of 87 days. Wood also “put me on media interviews, which I should never have done,” Rittenhouse complained to Carlson.

He added: “I was being used for a cause.”

Now Rittenhouse wants to use the money raised for him to pay off his current attorneys.

Wood, who has discounted Rittenhouse’s complaints, told NewsNation he can’t simply hand over the money to Rittenhouse because it was raised as part of the charity he established, the FightBack Foundation, and he must comply with tax law.

The lawyer said he is “open” to using funds to help pay Rittenhouse’s defense bills. But Wood also claimed that his organization spent $2.7 million on Rittenhouse’s defense before the teen signed on with new attorneys.

QAnon influencer John Sabal, better known as QAnon John, posted a message on Wednesday to his more than 70,000 Telegram subscribers, writing: “Not too smart to shit where you sleep, Kyle,” Insider reported.

QAnon influencer Ron Watkins’ followers accused Rittenhouse of being part of a “psyop” to divide QAnon followers.

But Wood was also garnering some negative comments. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who has peddled QAnon conspiracy theories, blasted Wood earlier this week as a “horrible person” after what Rittenhouse had to say about him.

James Comey's daughter is a lead prosecutor in Ghislaine Maxwell's child sex trafficking case. Here's what we know about her.

Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell have brought plenty of familiar faces along with them into the spotlight, including Prince Andrew and former Presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton.

But one newcomer is 32-year-old Maurene Comey.

The daughter of former FBI director James Comey, Maurene Comey is one of the three lead prosecutors on the case against Ghislaine Maxwell, whose child sex-trafficking trial is scheduled to begin Monday.

Despite her father's history of dominating the news cycle, Maurene Comey has largely stayed out of the spotlight, instead maintaining a low-profile presence.

But she's taken on major cases before Maxwell's trial, including the prosecution of Natalie Edwards, a self-proclaimed Treasury Department whistleblower; and Robert Hadden, a gynecologist accused of sexually abusing dozens of young women.

She was also one of the lead prosecutors in the case against Jeffrey Epstein before he killed himself in August 2019 while awaiting trial.

Here's what we know about the first daughter of law and order.

Maurene Comey has worked on multiple Epstein and Maxwell-related cases

Comey is currently an assistant US attorney in the Southern District of New York — one of the most prestigious federal prosecutors' offices nationwide.

The district covers Manhattan and the surrounding area, making it the center of prosecutions for financial crimes and other high-profile cases.

Maurene Comey joined the office in 2015, and is listed as one of three lead prosecutors handling the case against Maxwell, along with Assistant US Attorneys Alex Rossmiller and Alison Gainfort Moe.

The three of them also handled the case against Epstein, who was indicted in July 2019 for numerous sex crimes. For the case against Maxwell, they're joined by Assistant US Attorneys Andrew Rohrbach and Lara Elizabeth Pomerantz.

The prosecutors have accused Maxwell of trafficking teenage girls for sex and sexually abusing them herself along with Jeffrey Epstein. Maxwell has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has denied all misconduct.

James Comey was the head of the SDNY between 2002 and 2003 before former President George W. Bush named him deputy attorney general. He worked in the private sector from 2005 until former President Barack Obama named him FBI director in 2013.

Prior to joining the SDNY office herself in 2015, Maurene Comey worked for a year as a clerk for Loretta Preska, who at the time was the chief judge at the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Preska oversees a long-running defamation case that Virginia Giuffre filed against Maxwell. Giuffre has accused both Maxwell and Epstein of sexual misconduct, and the civil lawsuit has led to numerous unsealed documents related to Epstein's and Maxwell's conduct.

Two of the current criminal charges against Maxwell allege she perjured herself by lying in a deposition taken for Giuffre's case, but those charges are set to be tried in a separate trial.

Comey has also worked on another Epstein-related case: Nicholas Tartaglione. The former police officer was arrested in 2016, accused of killing four men as part of a drug crime conspiracy. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty, and he's been jailed for the past five years — often getting into arguments with correctional officials, court records show — as his case has been delayed.

Tartaglione was briefly roommates with Epstein at Manhattan's Metropolitan Correctional Center in 2019, and was living with him when Epstein made his first suicide attempt in jail, on July 23. Tartaglione claimed to have helped Epstein after finding him unconscious. The jail was shut down earlier this year after numerous scandals.

Seriously, this world was mislead into falling prey for LOOKS.

How many of these people got into office due to their looks? Not merit?
