It seems like only yesterday we were reporting on the new COVID variant coming out of Africa.

But within hours there were already vaccines for the new variant.

Reuters reported yesterday:

Novavax Inc (NVAX.O) said on Friday it had started working on a version of its COVID-19 vaccine to target the variant detected in South Africa and would have the shot ready for testing and manufacturing in the next few weeks.

The company’s COVID-19 shot contains an actual version of the virus’ spike protein that cannot cause disease but can trigger the immune system. The vaccine developer said it had started developing a spike protein specifically based on the known genetic sequence of the variant, B.1.1.529.

Novavax’s vaccine received its first emergency use approval earlier this month in Indonesia followed by the Philippines. Other vaccine developers, including Germany’s BioNTech SE and Johnson & Johnson, have said they are testing the effectiveness of their shots against the new variant, which is named Omicron by the World Health Organization

As we reported last night, other companies are ready to test their vaccine within the next two weeks as well.

Boris Johnson reveals UK’s response to Omicron strain of Covid

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced a tightening of coronavirus restrictions after the Omicron variant of the virus was found in the UK. Testing and tracing will be strengthened, and indoor masking strongly advised.

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Johnson announced that, based on what is known so far, the recently discovered new coronavirus strain appears to be more contagious than existing variants, and “can be spread between people who are double-vaccinated”.

As such, Johnson announced a raft of new “targeted and precautionary measures” to slow its spread in the UK and “buy time” for scientists to further research the variant.

On Friday, the UK banned incoming travel from South Africa and seven other neighbouring countries, and added four more nations to the banned list on Saturday. Johnson said that, while he would not stop anyone travelling, his government would now require anyone entering the UK from abroad to take a PCR test within a day of arrival and to self-isolate until they receive a negative result.

All contacts of someone who tests positive with a suspected case of the Omicron variant will be required to self-isolate for 10 days, regardless of their vaccination status.

Johnson suggested that masks will once again be required in shops and on public transport. The UK’s previous mask mandate was lifted back in July amid a summertime lull in Covid-19 cases, but during Saturday’s briefing, the PM did not specify whether they would be mandatory this time around, or merely advised.

Describing the “temporary and precautionary” measures as “the responsible course of action”, Johnson said they would be re-evaluated in three weeks – immediately before the Christmas holidays.

Thousands flood streets to decry vaccine mandate

A fresh round of rallies against mandatory Covid vaccination has hit Australia, with hundreds of thousands protesting in dozens of cities. Aerial footage captured huge crowds blocking central streets.

New rallies all across the country happened on Saturday, as people demonstrated for more freedom in relation to coronavirus vaccination. Organized by the Millions March Against Mandatory Vaccination group, massive protests swept central Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Perth, along with 30 other cities and towns in Australia.

No official numbers have been published regarding attendances, but various media outlets reported that “hundreds of thousands” took to the streets this weekend. Aerial footage showed cities flooded with sizable crowds.

In Sydney, people of all ages gathered in Hyde Park, carrying banners that read “Never lock down again,” and “Less government, more freedom.” In Melbourne, people protested outside the state parliament and blocked Spring Street while chanting “Sack [Premier of Victoria] Dan Andrews,” in an apparent expression of anger over his controversial pandemic powers legislation.

On the Gold Coast, protesters largely supported the leader of Australia’s right-wing One Nation party, Pauline Hanson. The senator, who has been trying to push a bill against mandatory vaccination policies, addressed the crowds, saying she had spoken with Prime Minister Scott Morrison and told him to change the constitution to facilitate her proposed legislation.

While the rallies were reportedly loud, with people cheering, beating drums and beeping horns, they were largely peaceful. In New South Wales, Health Minister Brad Hazzard officially allowed unvaccinated protesters to attend the Sydney rally, only asking they wear a mask and stay away if feeling unwell.

US Says "All Options" On Table Over Alleged 'Russian Invasion Threat' To Ukraine

The US now says "all options" are on the table in response to an alleged Russian troop build-up near its border with Ukraine. Top officials are set to meet with NATO next week to decide what further steps to take, according to Reuters.

"As you can appreciate, all options are on the table and there’s a toolkit that includes a whole range of options," the assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs, Karen Donfried, told reporters Friday.

Widespread media reports in the West have for more than a past week been warning that about 100,000 Russian troops are mustered near Ukraine's eastern border, poised for an invasion, as an initial Nov.11 Bloomberg story headlined. The Kremlin has repeatedly slammed this as disinformation and part of manufactured attempts at ramping up political pressure against Moscow.

"It's now for the alliance to decide what are the next moves that NATO wants to take," Donfried said. "Next week, we will talk about our assessment of what's happening on Russia's border with Ukraine and we will begin that conversation of what are the options that are on the table and what it is that NATO as an alliance would like to do together," she added.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to be in Latvia Monday for the NATO foreign ministerial meeting - this after some sharp words from NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who warned Russia on Friday, "If Russia uses force against Ukraine that will have costs, that would have consequences."

However, there's been agreement on all sides that a de-escalation of tensions is urgently needed, though Washington's "all options on the table" rhetoric likely isn't helping, given the phrase in the past has basically pointed to the military option.

Earlier this month Blinken put words to both Kiev and Washington's worst fears amid the Russian troop movement and build-up reports: "Our concern is that Russia may make the serious mistake of attempting to rehash what it undertook back in 2014, when it amassed forces along the border, crossed into sovereign Ukrainian territory and did so claiming — falsely — that it was provoked," he said previously.

Indonesia Detains 24 People Over Links to Terror Financing

Police in Indonesia detains 24 individuals over suspicion of fundraising for the Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), the Al-Qaeda-linked extremist group behind the 2002 Bali nightclub bombings and other attacks, the National Police’s counterterrorism squad said.

The suspects were allegedly collecting funds for JI via two Islamic charitable foundations, Aswin Siregar of the Densus 88 counterterrorism force said, stating that the terror group could raise tens of billions of rupiahs in a year to finance their activities, reported Tempo.

Syam Abadi, one of JI’s institutions to raise funds, recorded an income of almost 15 billion rupiahs per year, he added.

Financial reports revealed that the two institutions used as fronts for JI had raised about $2 million, but the figure could be higher, police said.

Police added that cash equivalent to $700,000 was discovered at the office of one of the foundations.

“This does not only happen here, other terror groups in the world get funding from anywhere because terror acts will not exist if there is no funding,” Aswin told a press conference on Nov. 25.

JI has been blamed for orchestrating the 2002 Bali bombing of two nightclubs, which killed more than 200 people, including 88 Australians, in what remains Indonesia’s deadliest terror attack.

The terror group was also linked to several other deadly attacks across Indonesia.

Ahmad Zain An-Najah, a senior member of Indonesia’s Islamic Council who was arrested along with two associates earlier this month, was among the 24 detained.

Ahmad worked in the Ulema Council’s commission in charge of issuing Islamic edicts, and his work at the council had nothing to do with militant activities, the national police spokesperson Rusdi Hartono said.

DOJ: ‘Modern-Day Slavery’ Scheme Run by Illegal Aliens Trafficked Foreign Visa Workers to Georgia Farms

The Department of Justice (DOJ) released a 54-count indictment that charges 24 individuals, many illegal aliens, with operating a “modern-day slavery” scheme that utilized the H-2A visa program to traffic foreign workers into United States farm jobs — raping, kidnapping, and threatening them in the process.

The indictment accuses the Patricio transnational criminal organization (TCO) — named after its matriarch, 70-year-old Maria Leticia Patricio — of operating a massive forced labor trafficking scheme since 2015 that used the H-2A visa program to traffic foreign workers from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras into farms jobs in Georgia.

Prosecutors called the scheme “modern-day slavery,” alleging that 24 members of the Patricio TCO engaged in mail fraud, international forced labor trafficking, and money laundering, among other crimes, across Georgia, Florida, and Texas.

According to the indictment, the Patricio TCO raked in more than $200 million from the forced labor trafficking scheme. As part of the scheme, the group sought to traffic more than 71,000 foreign workers to the U.S. using the H-2A visa program.

The H-2A visa program allows farms to bring an unlimited number of foreign workers to the U.S. every year to take American agricultural jobs. As Breitbart News has chronicled for years, the program is often used to replace Americans and preserve the low cost of farm labor.

The Patricio TCO, the indictment alleges, would secure H-2A visas for foreign workers, demand they pay them unlawful fees by keeping their immigration paperwork from them, require them to work in harsh conditions for little-to-no pay, make them reside in brutal living conditions, and would threaten them with deportation if they disobeyed orders.

In some cases, the indictment states, the trafficked foreign workers were required to dig onions in Georgia farms with their bare hands, were paid only 20 cents for each bucket harvested, all while being threatened with violence.

The various Georgia farms that contracted the trafficked foreign workers reside in Atkinson County, Bacon County, Coffee County, Tattnall County, Toombs County, and Ware County.

Members of the Patricio TCO would launder their millions in profits from the scheme through home and land purchases, cars, businesses, and casinos, the indictment alleges. Over the course of the investigation, the indictment states that three members attempted to intimidate witnesses to lie to a federal grand jury.

The CEO of cosmetics retailer Lush says he's 'happy to lose' $13 million by deleting Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat accounts over teen mental-health harms

Cosmetics company shut down its Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat accounts globally on Friday, citing its concern about the harms of social media in the wake of Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen's revelations.

"In the same way that evidence against climate change was ignored and belittled for decades, concerns about the serious effects of social media are going largely ignored now," the company said in its press release earlier this week.

Lush's announcement came just ahead of one of the biggest days of shopping all year, and the brand fully expected that losing its pipelines to millions of customers could harm its business.

But CEO Mark Constantine actually embraced that tradeoff.

"I'm happy to lose £10 million by quitting Facebook," he told The Guardian, referring to the money ($13.3 million) he expects the company could lose by shuttering its accounts.

Lush's Facebook and Instagram accounts had a combined 10.6 million followers, according to The Guardian.

"We've tightened up over the Covid period, it won't destroy us," Constantine told The Guardian, adding that Lush had "no choice" given Meta's own research about Instagram's adverse impact on teen girls' mental health.

"We're talking about suicide here, not spots or whether someone should dye their hair blonde," Constantine continued, telling The Guardian: "How could we possibly suggest we're a caring business if we look at that and don't care?"

Lush has taken public stands on various social issues in recent years, and previously quit Facebook and Instagram in 2019 because it was "tired of fighting with algorithms, though it ultimately returned to the platforms.

Lush isn't alone there: many major advertisers boycotted Meta's Facebook and Instagram platforms in 2020 following George Floyd's death at the hands of police officers, only to return months later.

But Lush said it's committed to staying off social media this time.

"We haven't done it as a PR stunt, we have done it for genuine reasons," Constantine told The Guardian, adding that if the brand reversed course again, he'd "be a laughing stock."

Facebook Removes Palestinian Pages Covering News from Jerusalem

Two Palestinian news pages, Al-Qastal and Maydan Al-Quds, disappeared from Facebook after the company removed them for ‘violating the community standards’, The New Arab reported.

The editors of the two pages condemned Facebook’s decision, saying that the social media giant is “actively fighting Palestinian content”.

Facebook’s move came only a month after it opened a special investigation on Palestine-Israel content suppression.

The two Palestinian pages reported daily news in Jerusalem from a Palestinian perspective, focusing on Israeli violations against Palestinians in the city.

Following the decision, Sada Social Center – which specializes in protecting the Palestinian narrative on social media platforms – has launched a campaign urging users worldwide to give Facebook a one-star review in the Apple and Google app stores over the social media giant’s ongoing censorship of Palestinian digital content, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

Facebook came under criticism in October after The Intercept published a leaked list of names that Facebook used to censor content, containing hundreds of names of Palestinian figures and organizations.

Cyber assault on Iranian fuel system was followed by hack of Israeli LGBTQ dating site, pointing to new trend of attacks against soft targets, New York Times reports

Israel carried out a cyber attack against Iran’s nationwide fuel system last month, two United States defense officials told the New York Times in a report published Saturday.

Days later, Iran-affiliated hackers breached an Israeli LGBTQ dating site and released details of its users in a cyber attack that roiled Israel.

The exchange points to a new trend of targeting civilians in the shadow war between Israel and Iran. The two attacks appear to be the first that caused widespread harm to civilians, auguring an escalation in the cyber conflict as softer targets are drawn into the line of fire.

The hack of Iran’s gas distribution system began on October 26, shutting down civilian gas pumps and broadcasting digital messages blaming Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The cyber attack brought all of the country’s 4,300 fuel distribution stations to a halt, resulting in traffic jams, long lines at gas stations and other transportation problems.

Technicians were able to fix some pumps within days, but the stations could only sell expensive, unsubsidized fuel. The distribution system did not fully recover until nearly two weeks later.

The attack took place close to the two-year anniversary of mass protests against the government over fuel prices and appeared designed to sow chaos and stoke anti-government sentiment.

At least one Iranian official at the time blamed Israel and the US for the attack.

An official in Iran’s Oil Ministry and an oil dealer told The New York Times that the attackers had also taken over Iran’s fuel storage tanks, and may have accessed data on international oil sales — secret information that could reveal Iranian breaches of international sanctions.

Syrian Democratic Forces Will Release More Than 850 Suspected ISIS Members – Report

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) is preparing to release more than 850 suspected members of ISIS from its prisons, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on November 26.

The London-based monitoring group said that most of the suspects who will be released are from the northeastern governorate of al-Hasakah and the eastern governorate of Deir Ezzor. It is still unclear if the suspectes will be released at once, or on batches.

“The release will be mediated by sheikhs and tribal elders from the [northeastern] region,” the SOHR’s report reads.

The SDF runs several prisons in northeastern Syria with support from the US-led coalition. Thousands of ISIS members, including foreigners, are held at these prisons.

A recent report by The Guardian revealed that the SDF have been releasing prisoners, including members of ISIS, in exchange a $8,000 “fine”. The prisoners who benefited from the these deals were not even subjected to a trail prior to their release. These deals were promoted as a “reconciliation” process.

The SDF denied the information revealed by The Guardian and claimed that the “official documents” presented by the British outlet were false.

Regardless of all recent developments, there no denying that the SDF released many suspected members of ISIS over the last few years to appease sheikhs and tribal elders in its areas.

By gonging easy on ISIS members, the SDF appears to be comprising its own counter-terrorist policy. The US-led coalition seems ok with that, likely because it has been using ISIS’ influence in northeastern Syria as an excuse to stay in the region.

Yes, this is a big deal. But nobody is listening. Cardiac risk could go up 1,000X after vaccination and it wouldn’t matter. Nobody is listening. This article is proof of that.

These changes resulted in an increase of the PULS score from 11% 5 yr ACS risk to 25% 5 yr ACS risk. At the time of this report, these changes persist for at least 2.5 months post second dose of vac. We conclude that the mRNA vacs dramatically increase inflammation on the endothelium and T cell infiltration of cardiac muscle and may account for the observations of increased thrombosis, cardiomyopathy, and other vascular events following vaccination.

There is a 29X increase in the rate of stillborn babies in Waterloo, Ontario that started after vaccination program rolled out. All the mothers of the stillborn babies were vaccinated.

I’m sure this is happening everywhere, but nobody in the US wants to lose their job over this.

So why the CDC is saying this is perfectly safe for pregnant women? I’m curious as to what the CDC has determined the cause of this. Obviously, it couldn’t be the “safe and effective” vaccine. Note: the CDC doesn’t have jurisdiction in Canada of course, but they could call over there and find out…

The good news of course is that this only appears to be happening in areas of the world where they release data to the public on what is going on.

AN investigation has been launched into a spike in deaths among newborn babies in Scotland.

Official figures reveal that 21 infants died during September within 28 days of birth, causing the neonatal mortality rate to breach an upper warning threshold known as the 'control limit' for the first time in at least four years.

Control and warning limits are designed to flag up to public health teams when neonatal, stillbirth or other infant deaths are occurring at unexpectedly high or low levels which may not be due to chance.

Concerns have previously been raised about the potential impact of Covid on maternity services and maternal wellbeing, but it is the first time since the pandemic began that neonatal deaths have been so abnormally above average.

Hillary Clinton Is Back – Predicts Biden Regime Will Be Removing ‘Punitive Tariffs’ in President Trump’s Trade Deal with China

Hillary Clinton is now traveling the world and making statements about the Biden gang’s next moves to help China.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton predicted the Biden administration would remove some punitive tariffs on China, while also calling on the world to prevent military aggression by Beijing and criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“I know that there’s an ongoing process, as we speak, to try to figure out what would be the best approach with respect to the tariffs,” Clinton said last Friday during a virtual appearance at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in Singapore. “And I would predict that there will be some changes. But they will not all disappear, because some of them in this new reality we’re living in may well be continued.”

Last month, U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai said the administration would directly engage with Beijing to enforce commitments in a trade deal reached last year with former President Donald Trump. China is far behind its purchasing targets, in which it pledged to buy an extra $200 billion in U.S. agriculture, energy and manufactured products over the 2017 level in the two years through the end of 2021.

Biden’s economic policies are insane for America but help China and the rest of the world.

It’s clear that the Biden regime will do all they can to help China. Not a single move that Biden has made has harmed China but many have harmed the US and Americans everywhere (just ask those Americans left behind in Afghanistan).

Global markets are reeling in the wake of more lockdowns and threats of them.

The sight of 40,000 unvaccinated Austrians marching through their capital, Vienna, in recent days was troubling twice over. The tightly packed opponents of lockdown measures were at risk of spreading the coronavirus. They also threatened to stir up an already tense political situation. Karl Nehammer, Austria’s interior minister, warned that anti-vaxxers in the Alpine republic are growing more radicalised. He called the demonstration’s mood “incensed” and “aggressive”. Some protesters were extremely provocative, carrying placards likening Alexander Schallenberg, Austria’s new chancellor, to Josef Mengele, the sadistic physician at the Nazi concentration camp in Auschwitz.

The protesters were marching against Austria’s increasingly tough measures against anti-vaxxers. On November 22nd the government imposed a full lockdown once again, to last for at least ten days. That compels Austria’s 9m people to hunker down at home, leaving only for work, essential shopping and exercise. Austria is also the first Western democracy to make covid-19 vaccinations mandatory for all, starting on February 1st 2022. “For a long time—maybe too long—I and others assumed that it must be possible to convince people in Austria to get vaccinated voluntarily,” said Mr Schallenberg when he announced his “very difficult” decision.
