To be fair, I mean such is the nature of VPNs. If you're going to use a VPN in the first place, there is a chance that shills are on the same network, and that IP will have to be blocked to deter them/slow down or stop spam, and it's best to just pick another IP. We have no idea if the anon appealing the ban is the same shill or a new genuine anon who happened upon that node. I assume the other guys are taking the safer approach and assuming the shill is still there, as it has happened to us thousands of times now. I try to keep my own banning to a minimum myself unless I'm fucking around with ebot, but I lift my ebot bans probably a week or two later.

If you're using a VPN, I would expect to hop a couple times. Even I have to do it occasionally. That said, I'll speak to the other guys about implementing timed bans instead of permabans to prevent the issue.
