A Fearstorm Is Upon Us

I just sat down at my computer and saw that a new fearstorm is upon us. I saw signs of it earlier in the week, and now it has arrived. And so, briefly, I’d like everyone to understand how these things operate.

Firstly, please notice that fearstorms are coordinated; they arrive in terrifying clusters, with more or less every elite-driven bullhorn saying the same thing, playing up the same terrifying “possibilities.” And notice that your emotional reactions entirely discount “possibilities.” You’re feeling nearly the same shock you would if the terrors were certain. Humans have a weakness for that, and the people behind these fearstorms know it.

The goal of a fearstorm is for you to stop thinking rationally and to act reflexively. Fear does that to us, and the people driving fearstorms can conjure more fear any time they want. Imagined fears are infinite, after all. Take out a pad of paper some time, and see how many terrifying things you can come up with in half an hour.

So, if you allow yourself to be tossed about by possibilities, you’ll be tossed about forever. The people who produce these things know this, and that’s their winning strategy.

Instead of listening to “the news” and reacting to social media (outfits that monetize your fear), use your eyes and ears to see what’s happening in the real, physical world. Has the world you see and hear changed over the last day?

Now, before I send this, I’d like everyone to get this viscerally:

A fearstorm is sucker-punch.

So, why is this hitting today? Perhaps because protests are breaking out in Europe? Perhaps because more vaxxed people are dying than the unvaxxed? Because soccer players are dropping like flies?

I don’t know, but I do know that the world I see hasn’t changed since yesterday… at all.

Former Fort Irwin soldier twice convicted of possessing child porn sentenced to prison

A former Fort Irwin soldier was convicted for a second time for possession of child pornography and was sentenced earlier this week.

A judge sentenced Steven Berg, 40, to four years in state prison after pleading no contest to the charge on Monday.

Berg was given more than a year’s worth of credit for time served and good conduct. He will also receive two days of credit for every four days in custody, meaning he will likely serve half the time.

The ex-soldier was arrested in August at the Fort Irwin National Training Center after a search warrant was served at a home there.

The warrant resulted from an investigation conducted by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, which “determined the child pornography was distributed from a home” on the base’s grounds, officials said.

At the time of his arrest, Berg was already on 36 months of felony probation after being convicted of the same crime in February.

He was also still in the military despite being a felon and registering as a sex offender.

According to Army regulations, any soldier convicted of a sex offense “that did not result in a punitive discharge will be processed for administrative separation regardless of when the conviction for the sex offense occurred.

Two days after Berg’s second arrest, base officials said that Berg had been “administratively separated” Thursday for “unrelated misconduct” after a reporter began asking questions about his duty status.

Administrative separation is a non-judicial process military commanders can use to remove someone involuntarily from service and likened to being “fired from a job,” according to the legal website FindLaw.

Court records show Berg will begin serving his four-year sentence after finishing an eight-month sentence for violating his probation.

Berg had been with the U.S. Army since 2011 and was a combat medic assigned to Fort Irwin in November 2017.

Interpol elects Chinese cop in charge of pursuing overseas fugitives to senior role

The international policing agency Interpol has elected a top Chinese public security official to its executive committee in the face of widespread criticism from international parliamentarians and rights groups.

Interpol elected top ministry of public security official Hu Binchen serve for a four-year term on the committee, although the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been known to abuse the Interpol “red notice” arrest warrant system to track down peaceful critics of the regime far beyond China’s borders, something that is forbidden under Interpol’s charter.

The move came despite an open letter from 50 members of the International Inter-Parliamentary Coalition on China Policy (IPAC) warning that countries that abuse the Interpol system shouldn’t be given prominent leadership roles in the agency.

Citing the cases of Uyghur activists Dolkun Isa, who was subject to a Chinese Red notice for almost 20 years before it was deleted in 2018, and Idris Hasan, who now faces extradition to China after being arrested in Morocco in July, on the basis of a now-deleted Chinese Red Notice, the lawmakers highlighted “long-standing concerns about China using leadership positions to gain influence in the organization, which in the past has damaged its reputation and reportedly threatened its political neutrality.”

“The candidacy of Hu Binchen is particularly worrying, as he has been known as the right-hand man of Meng Hongwei during his Presidency,” the lawmakers said in a letter to Interpol before the election.

Meng “disappeared” in 2018 while in post as Interpol president, only to turn up in CCP disciplinary detention. He is currently serving a 13-and-a-half-year jail term after pleading guilty to “bribery.”

“Hu Binchen’s candidacy and persona is exemplary of China’s attempts to abuse multilateral institutions for its own repressive interests,” the letter from the 50 IPAC members said.

National Guard scandals in these 13 states raise questions about culture and accountability

The National Guard system — crucial to America’s military defense and vital to state emergency operations — is reeling from corruption and misconduct that reflect overarching command failures, a USA TODAY investigation has found.

For more than two decades, state Guards from Alaska to California to Delaware have been shaken by scandals, often exposed by whistleblowers who are subjected to retaliation amid coverups.

In Maryland, a Black soldier was taunted and forced to wear chains as punishment.

In Vermont, an Air Guard commander allegedly flew a fighter jet to the nation’s capital, where he had a tryst with a Pentagon official.

In state after state, soldiers have been sexually assaulted or harassed, only to suffer reprisal from executive officers.

Throughout the National Guard system, which consists of 54 independent state and territorial militias, soldiers and airmen have complained for decades about abuses that suggest a failure of culture and oversight.

Critics contend that pervasive corruption and a lack of transparency betray America’s nearly 445,000 National Guard troops while shielding culprits, even as Guard units are relied upon more than ever.

“It’s a structural deficit of accountability,” said Dwight Stirling, a California National Guard attorney and director of the Center for Law and Military Policy. “What you get there is one thing — corruption.”

The lion’s share of soldiers and airmen maintain military values. They hunt drug smugglers, provide disaster relief, fight wildfires and support pandemic efforts while serving as a war-time reserve force for the regular U.S. military.

In state after state, however, records show Guard scandals have led to cover-ups and retaliation against whistleblowers.

Jack Ruby: Israel's Smoking Gun

By a strange paradox, most Kennedy researchers who believe that Oswald was "just a patsy" spend an awful lot of time exploring his biography. This is about as useful as investigating Osama bin Laden for solving 9/11. Any serious quest for the real assassins of JFK should start by investigating the man who shot Oswald at pointblank in the stomach at 11:21 a.m. on November 24, 1963 in the Dallas Police station, thereby sealing the possibility that a judicial inquiry would draw attention to the inconsistencies of the charge against him, and perhaps expose the real perpetrators. One would normally expect the Dallas strip-club owner Jack Ruby to be the most investigated character by Kennedy truthers. But that is not the case.

Of course, it is perfectly normal that Chief Justice Earl Warren, when Ruby told him on June 7, 1964, "I have been used for a purpose," failed to ask him who had used him and for what purpose.1 But what about independent investigators? Are only readers of the Forward ("News That Matters To American Jews") worthy of being informed that "Lee Harvey Oswald's Killer 'Jack Ruby' Came From Strong Jewish Background," and that he told his rabbi Hillel Silverman that he "did it for the Jewish people"? Here is the relevant passage of Steve North's 2013 article, relating Silverman's reaction after hearing on the radio that a "Jack Rubenstein" had killed the assassin:

"I was shocked," said Silverman. "I visited him the next day in jail, and I said, 'Why, Jack, why?' He said, 'I did it for the American people.'" I interrupted Silverman, pointing out that other reports had Ruby saying he did it "to show that Jews had guts." The rabbi sighed. "Yes, he mentioned that," Silverman said. "But I don't like to mention it. I think he said, 'I did it for the Jewish people.' But I've tried to wipe that statement from my mind."2

Ruby's defense lawyer William Kunstler also claims in his memoir that Ruby told him: "I did it for the Jews," repeating on several occasions: "I did this that they wouldn't implicate Jews." During Kunstler's last visit Ruby handed him a note in which he reiterated that his motive was to "protect American Jews from a pogrom that could occur because of anger over the assassination."3 There is only one possible interpretation of Ruby's words: he must have known, and those who tasked him with killing Oswald must have known, that if Oswald was tried, the Jewish hand in JFK's assassination would likely be made apparent.

Why is this crucial information not in any book on the Kennedy assassination, save in Michael Collins Piper's (and now mine)? James Douglass, to take the most representative example, insists, without a shred of evidence, that Ruby, besides being a "Chicago mob functionary," was "CIA-connected".4 Not once does Douglass mention Ruby's Jewish background, and his real name can only be found in a single endnote quoting another author. Could Douglass's strange omission have the same motive as Ruby's murder of Oswald, namely to "protect American Jews from a pogrom that could occur because of anger over the assassination"?

Ineptly, YouTube Tries to Pick Up Where Dr. Goebbels Left Off

By what right does a private corporation presume to dictate to its users what they may or may not think or post?

Gleichschaltung is a German word with a rich history. It stands for the coerced harmonisation of all forms of public expression with the official line. That concept is currently undergoing a renaissance, but not in the “captive nations” of the East.

Every morning after arriving in his office at the Propaganda Ministry, Dr. Goebbels would devote himself to the important task of disseminating a directive to all German media outlets, outlining what position on principal issues they were expected to take on that particular day. The media were instructed not only on what to say but – of equal importance – what not to mention. The system Goebbels set up worked like a charm. Under his meticulous supervision, in public discourse an imposing harmony of opinion reigned from one end of Germany to another, undisrupted by discordant voices.

One wishes that this mechanically imposed harmony, admired as it may have been by some, had come to an end in 1945. But a YouTube bulletin disseminated a few days ago reminds us that it did not.

YouTube users were curtly informed of the prevailing “Community Guidelines” on a topic which currently is at the top of the list of public concerns: The Covid-19 crisis. Here are the highlights of that guidance:

“COVID-19 medical misinformation policy

“YouTube doesn’t allow content about COVID-19 that poses a serious risk of egregious harm.

“YouTube doesn’t allow content that spreads medical misinformation that contradicts local health authorities’ (LHA) or the World Health Organization’s (WHO) medical information about COVID-19. This is limited to content that contradicts WHO [about the utter corruption of WHO, see here] or local health authorities’ guidance on:

“Treatment,

“Prevention

“Diagnosis

“Transmission

“Social distancing and self-isolation guidelines, and

“The existence of COVID-19.”

Sceptics are encouraged to go directly to the source if they have doubts about the authenticity of these appalling prohibitions:

https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9891785

YouTube then goes on to specify:

“What this policy means for you if you’re posting content:

“Don’t post content on YouTube if it includes any of the following:

“Treatment misinformation:

“Content that encourages the use of home remedies, prayer, or rituals in place of medical treatment such as consulting a doctor or going to the hospital.”

Notably, no definition of “egregious harm” or “home remedies” is given, nor is any rationale provided for prohibiting such remedies being recommended by persons who may have had a positive experience after using them. Nor is it explained to millions of religious people throughout the world why prayer and procedures condescendingly termed “rituals” are also on the prohibited list. Will members of the Christian Science religious denomination, who since long before the appearance of Covid have relied exclusively on prayer for therapeutic purposes and avoided medical cures, now be required to alter their beliefs? Not even in the Soviet Union were believers ever made to face such a stark choice. To even the least sophisticated it should now be obvious that the thrust of YouTube’s guidelines is not to promote health but to steer patients toward the extremely expensive solutions that have enabled the pharmacological industry to make a financial killing from Covid-19.

That impression is strongly reinforced by the nauseatingly repetitious proscriptions that follow:

“Content that recommends use of Ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19

“Claims that Hydroxychloroquine is an effective treatment for COVID-19

“Categorical claims that Ivermectin is an effective treatment for COVID-19

“Claims that Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine are safe to use in the treatment COVID-19

“Content that recommends use of Ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquine for the prevention of COVID-19

“Claims that Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine are safe to use in the treatment COVID-19.”
