In the movie "Cloud Atlas", a human-esque alien (which is actually another version of humanity that splintered off into space long ago), is visiting a tribe of people that have never industrialized (as in staying in small, primitive villages). Tom Hanks plays one of those people.
He notes, that when asked how her ship moves, the alien says "Fusion Engines" or something of the sort and almost everyone nods their heads s if they understand what she meant.
Tom Hanks' character notes how nobody knows what she's actually talking about, but none of them want to look foolish, so they act like they do.
