PETA launches human leather ‘shop’

Animal rights group PETA is making waves with the introduction of Urban Outraged, a satirical online ‘store’ selling clothing and accessories made from human skin.

“Human skin is ‘in,’” PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) wrote in its press release about the store. To protest clothing and materials made from animals, the group flipped the situation and instead presented images of hypothetical jackets and handbags derived from humans.

Like many of PETA’s public campaigns, the images have gotten attention for their extreme nature, with items such as shoes and belts showing splatters of blood, and others displaying poor stitching together of skin.

Descriptions of some materials also include the names of the ‘victims’ behind them, including the Sofie Dress, a unique garment because “there was only one of her.”

The Juliet Dress, meanwhile, is more than one-of-a-kind, but not by much, as Juliet was “petite.”

“Built to appear like a real online shopping experience, its goal is to make visitors question why it’s deemed acceptable to use the skin of any living, feeling being for fashion. And yes, it’s as disturbing as it sounds,” PETA wrote in its presentation

The name of the store, Urban Outraged, is also a direct shot at Urban Outfitters, a popular clothing chain. The company has been targeted by PETA in the past, and the organization is demanding that it drop “ALL animal-derived materials” from its stores.

PETA’s latest campaign has earned a level of mockery and confusion often typical with the group’s public stunts.

The items listed on the website are of course not for sale, but clicking on the site’s purchase button will take a user to even more displays of cruelty, showing slaughtered sheep and cows in gruesome fashion and asking, “Why aren’t you horrified by what’s already in your closet?”

NATO shipping weaponry to Russian border – Moscow

Alarming quantities of weapons are being shuttled by NATO towards the border with Russia, Moscow's top diplomat has warned, adding that Western states are engaging in provocations that could lead to an actual armed conflict.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov revealed that “significant units and armaments from NATO countries, including American and British, are being moved closer to our borders.”

He said that, in neighboring Ukraine, “more and more forces and equipment are being accumulated on the line of contact in the Donbas, supported by an increasing number of Western instructors.”

According to the veteran diplomat, these nations also encourage officials in Kiev to take anti-Russian actions, which he said can easily “turn into military adventures.”

Lavrov warned that “if the West cannot hold back Ukraine – and actually encourages it – of course we will take all necessary steps to ensure our security.”

He also blasted the West’s long-term pushing of other states into anti-Russian ventures, noting that the incorporation of former Soviet republics into the military bloc is the “brightest example” of this – a move which Russia has openly denounced.

Lavrov’s remarks come amid reignited tensions between the US-led alliance and Moscow. In a recent interview with CNN, its chief, Jens Stoltenberg, said NATO had tripled the size of its resource force and bulked up its presence in both the Black and Baltic seas to counter Russian presence.

Fashion Designer Who Died Day Before Ghislaine Maxwell Trial Was Named In Sex Trafficking Lawsuit Against Epstein’s Brother

Deceased designer Virgil Abloh was listed as a "defendant" in a now-dismissed lawsuit against Jeffrey Epstein's brother by a woman alleging she was sex trafficked.

Virgil Abloh, the prolific black designer who worked with Louis Vuitton and was CEO of Off-White, died after he reportedly lost a “two-year battle with cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare cancer” at 41 years old on Sunday, just one day before the criminal trial of alleged sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.

National File has learned that Abloh was once named in a now-dismissed sex trafficking lawsuit against Mark Epstein, the brother of deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

On August 21, 2020, the famous designer was named as a defendant in a civil suit filed against Jeffrey Epstein’s 1953 Trust, as well as Jeffrey’s brother Mark Epstein, by a woman named Charlene Latham, alleging that she had been a sex trafficking victim of Jeffrey Epstein and numerous high-profile socialites including Ghislaine Maxwell.

Mark Epstein appears to have been named in the lawsuit due to his major role in the 1953 Trust, the legal name given to Jeffrey Epstein’s estate. Mark Epstein was the sole beneficiary of Jeffrey Epstein’s mysterious fortune, and it was speculated last year that the estate may pay out up to $100 million to settle lawsuits with alleged victims.

The plaintiffs in the case were seeking damages, including the deed to Epstein’s $20 million Palm Beach mansion. More than two dozen prominent names were listed in the suit, including R. Kelly, Beyonce, and both Harvey Weinstein and his corporate entity.

The lawsuit was filed with the Southern District of New York, Charlene Latham v Mark Epstein, 1953 Trust, and was ultimately and swiftly shot down by a federal judge who claimed that the plaintiff filed a frivolous lawsuit. However, as of February 2021, the litigation was reportedly ongoing.

Critics of the lawsuit have reported that Latham claimed to have “visited both Epstein’s New York townhouse and Little St. James before he owned either property, while also alleging she flew in the Lolita Express long before Epstein had acquired the aircraft.”

Some particularly explosive claims alleged in the suit include accusations that “all of the Defendant’s decades long and continuing criminal conduct” consisted of a “sociopathic, decades long scheme of human trafficking, criminal sexual assault, financial exploitation, psychological torture, harassment,” among other allegations, including sexual crimes against minors.

Wilson – who currently serves as the Scheduling & Advance Representative to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary – previously worked as the National Advance Lead on Biden’s presidential campaign.

Posts unearthed from Wilson’s social media accounts reveal the Biden official participated in a 2015 delegation to China sponsored by the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) as an advisor to a cohort of college students.

CUSEF was founded by the Vice-Chairman of the “highest-ranking entity overseeing” China’s United Front, which the U.S.-China Security and Economic Review Commission notes the country weaponizes “to co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of its ruling Chinese Communist Party” and “influence foreign governments to take actions or adopt positions supportive of Beijing.”

CUSEF has deployed this tactic on American journalists and former Congressmen, offering free trips to the country in exchange for “favorable coverage,” according to Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) filings.

As revealed in FARA filings, the trips function as part of a broader effort to “effectively disseminate positive messages to the media, key influencers and opinion leaders, and the general public” regarding the Chinese Communist Party.

The delegation was the result of collaboration between CUSEF and the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), which counts membership from most officials in Congress including Rep. Ilhan Omar, and prior to becoming Vice President, the Indian-Jamaican origin Kamala Harris. The program – the African American Students Exchange Program – was inaugurated in 2012 and operates “in cooperation with the Congressional Black Caucus.” Since its inception, it has hosted over 750 students and is “funded by the Chinese Ministry of Education.”

US U-turns on rebels’ terrorist status after 20 years

The US has formally removed the Revolutionary Forces of Colombia (FARC) from its list of foreign terrorist organizations, just after the fifth anniversary of the peace deal between the rebel group and the Colombian government.

In a statement, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed that “The Department of State is revoking the designations of the Revolutionary Forces of Colombia (FARC) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FT)” after more than 20 years.

FARC was designated as an FT in 1997, during President Bill Clinton’s administration, in the middle of a violent conflict between the group and the country’s government that spanned decades.

On November 24, 2016, the Colombian government and FARC reached a peace deal bringing the clashes to an end. Two years later, FARC worked with the United Nations on surrendering and decommissioning its weapons before transforming into a political party.

Despite removing the terrorist designation, the Biden administration said its decision “does not change the [US government’s] posture with regards to any charges or potential charges in the United States against former leaders of the FARC.” Blinken added that the move was designed to “facilitate the ability of the United States to better support implementation of the 2016 [peace] accord.”

While the US is revoking the terrorist label that has hung over FARC since the 1990s, it will be designating splinter groups that are still engaging in dissident behavior as FTs. FARC-EP and Segunda Marquetalia, composed of former FARC militants, have been accused of continuing to fight against the Colombian government and of supporting drug trafficking. The two groups allegedly have a membership of more than 5,000 ex-FARC rebels who refused to sign up to the peace deal.

Greece reveals age groups to be fined monthly if unvaccinated

Older people in Greece who fail to get vaccinated against Covid-19 will face a monthly fine of €100 ($113.64), Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on Tuesday, in the first of such measures imposed by an EU country.

To start, Covid vaccines will be mandatory for individuals aged 60 and over, as Greece seeks to protect its health service from a potential resurgence of the virus throughout the coming winter months.

The prime minister’s announcement marks the first measure in the EU to target a specific age group with mandatory vaccination, as officials seek to protect at-risk individuals and emergency workers from Covid.

Defending the decision, Mitsotakis stated that it was “the price to pay for health” and that it was important to make the Covid jab mandatory to protect elderly Greeks who have not yet been vaccinated.

“We are focusing our efforts on protection of our fellow citizens and for this reason their vaccination will be mandatory from now on,” Mitsotakis stated.

Over-60s who have failed to book their appointment for a first Covid vaccine dose by January 16 will face a monthly recurring fine of €100. Mitsotakis called the penalty a matter of “protection, not punishment.”

Criticizing the government’s actions, Syriza, the country’s main opposition party, condemned Mitsotakis for taking a step that “hasn’t happened anywhere” in Europe. While it’s not clear how the fine will be enforced, critics highlighted that €100 is a significant proportion of the country’s monthly €730 ($830.20) pension.

Although Greece’s measure is being touted as the first inoculation mandate imposed on a specific age group, it follows the French government urging all adults to get their booster shots. While France has not made the jabs mandatory, individuals who fail to get their booster will be unable to use their health pass, thereby denying them access to indoor venues such as restaurants and bars.

Since the start of the pandemic, Greece has recorded 924,506 confirmed cases of the virus. The country’s vaccination program has administered 14 million doses so far, with around 63% of the population now fully vaccinated.

UK to put booster jab programme ‘on steroids’ in wake of Omicron

British Health Secretary Sajid Javid said the country will intensify its vaccination campaign in response to the arrival of the potentially more contagious Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

“The minimal interval for booster jabs should be halved from six months to three months,” Javid told Parliament on Monday, citing the new advice from the government’s Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).

The health secretary added that booster jabs should be expanded to include all adults. The JCVI previously advised boosters for people aged 40 and older.

The changes were announced as the number of Omicron infections detected in the UK has grown to 11 on Monday. The World Health Organization warned that Omicron may be potentially more contagious and vaccine-resistant than previously known variants of the coronavirus.

“In this race between the vaccines and the virus, the new variant may have given the virus extra legs,” Javid said, adding that he expected a rise in cases in “coming days.”

Federal Government to Run Out of Money in Three Days amid Legislative Pileup

The federal government will run out of money in three days while a legislative pileup has continued to plague Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who failed on Monday to pass a routine defense bill to clear legislative calendar days to pass the $1.9 trillion reconciliation package.

Senate Democrats are scrambling to execute the priority of funding the government. Schumer is reportedly trying to get Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on board to pass a measure Wednesday to partially fund the government until late January. But no outcome has resulted from talks.

Schumer is likely angling to fund the government only until late January to avoid a larger fight with Republicans while freeing up calendar days to pass the reconciliation package.

Complicating the passage of funding the federal government is the Senate Democrats’ failed attempt to pass a routine defense bill, called the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The defense act is usually a bipartisan piece of legislation that has been enacted for 60 years.

Senate Republicans successfully delayed the passage of the NDAA Monday to presumably tighten the screws on the Senate Democrats’ legislative calendar with the intention of thwarting the massive tax and spend welfare package.

“It’s about a general effort to obstruct anything that’s going on, with the hope that will reflect poorly on Joe Biden,” embattled Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) told Politico about Republicans’ successful effort Monday.

“It’s incompetence of managing the bill,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) said defending Republicans. “We can get it done this week. They don’t have their act together on reconciliation yet, so it’s not to delay that.”

Schumer has said he wants a vote on the reconciliation package before Christmas, an aggressive schedule. Yet Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), who has slow-walked the reconciliation process, stated he is fine with the package being considered in 2022.

In order to pass the reconciliation package on time, however, Senate Democrats must fund the government, raise the debt ceiling before December 15, and pass the NDAA — all within December.

“It’s our responsibility to make sure that we take care of the debt ceiling. And Democrats are now in control, so we want to make sure we do it and do it right,” Manchin admitted to Politico about the Democrats’ responsibility of managing the chamber.

The European Commission will be “looking into” a internal document that advised bureaucrats to avoid terms like “Christmas time” to be more inclusive after the paper leaked to an Italian newspaper.

The document, entitled “European Commission Guidelines for Inclusive Communication”, gives advice to Commission employees for all communications including press releases, social media posts, speeches, and training materials.

Under the section labelled “cultures, lifestyles and beliefs”, the document recommends Commission employees refrain from using the term “Christmas time”, arguing that because Christmas is not celebrated by everyone in the European Union, they should use the term “holiday times” instead.

Guidance, first reported on by the Italian newspaper Il Giornale with the entire document later distributed by French news website Fdesouche.com, also discourages the term “Christian name”, which should instead be replaced with “first name” or “forename”.

Commission employees are also encouraged to use names from different ethnic and religious backgrounds in their communications material, giving the example: “Malika and Julio are an international couple.”

While much of the document is comprised of language suggestions, there are some rules which are labelled as being mandatory, such as “never” using gendered language like policeman as a default, not using the term “Mr” or “Mrs”, and always addressing an audience as “dear colleagues” — “never” as “ladies and gentlemen”.

The EU publication also states that workers should “be mindful of the negative connotations of terms such as colonisation or settlement”, going so far as to suggest the use of the phrase “sending humans to Mars” rather than speak of the future colonisation of the red planet.

Il Giornale published the report over the weekend, prompting criticism from Italian politicians, such as national conservative Brother of Italy (FdI) leader Giorgia Meloni who stated: “Enough is enough: our history and our identity will not be erased.”

Spanish MEP Jorge Buxadé, a member of the populist party VOX, also commented on the document on Twitter, telling European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen: “We are going to say Christmas, Mary, Bethlehem, Joseph, Jesus and whatever we want, when we want.”

The Commission subsequently walked back the guidance, with the European Commission’s Commissioner for Equality Helena Dalli, a long-serving Maltese left-wing politician calling the document — which she had previously posed for a picture holding at its launch — a “work in progress”.

Dalli said in a statement issued through the Commission and shared by her on social media that her intention for the document has been “to illustrate the diversity of European culture”, a mission she called an “important aim”. Nevertheless, she said, “the guidelines clearly need more work. I therefore withdraw the guidelines and will work further on this document”.

The uncovering of the content of the communication guidelines comes just months after Simona Baldassarre, a Member of the European Parliament for Matteo Salvini’s League, highlighted a glossary for EU officials which banned terms like “mother” and “father”.

Biden sending 1,000 Nat’l Guard troops to Africa

President Joe Biden is sending 1,000 Virginia and Kentucky National Guard troops to the horn of Africa, the services announced on Saturday. The deployment marks the largest single-unit mobilization of Virginia’s National Guard since World War II.

According to the Virginia National Guard Public Affairs Office, 800 Virginia and 200 Kentucky Guardsmen were transported to Fort Bliss, Texas, for roughly one month of pre-deployment training, marking the start of their federal active duty status. The troops will be deployed to “unspecified countries” in Africa early next year.

Virginia units from Bedford, Charlottesville, Lexington, Pulaski and Suffolk and a Kentucky unit from Somerset, are deploying as “Task Force Red Dragon.” They a mobilizing under the command of the Lynchburg-based 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team “to provide a security force in support of Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa.”

Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, told the troops that they are activating as part of one of the most well-known units in the Army.

“It’s important to recognize that you are a great and storied unit in our Army,” said Maj. Gen. Williams. “You’re well trained and well led, and we have every confidence that you will be very successful in your deployment to the African continent.”

It is unclear if the Virginia and Kentucky Guardsmen are increasing the existing African force, or if they are replacing those currently deployed. An Army spokesperson told Military.com that roughly 6,000 American troops, Defense Department civilians and contractors are currently working throughout Africa.

Currently, there are almost 27,500 National Guard troops overseas, including the Middle East and Europe. Nearly 11,500 Guardsmen are also deployed in the United States for missions relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and wildfire response efforts.

“I am so proud to have served as your commander in chief,” said Governor Ralph Northam at the departure ceremony held at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford. “On behalf of a grateful Commonwealth of Virginia, I say thank you.”

Pentagon to send more troops, warplanes, bolster Indo-Pacific bases to counter China

The Pentagon is planning to reinforce U.S. bases in Guam, Australia and the Northern Mariana Islands in order to better deter military threats from China.

During a Monday press briefing at the Pentagon, Dr. Mara Karlin — who is performing the duties of deputy undersecretary for policy — said the U.S. will reinforce infrastructure, rotate large numbers of aircraft and other weapons systems, and expand partnerships with allies in the Pacific.

Karlin said these new moves to bolster the U.S. military presence in the region come on the heels of the Pentagon’s latest Global Posture Review (GPR), which assesses the U.S. military posture around the world. The specifics of the GPR are classified, but Karlin provided some hints as to the review’s contents; particularly about how the U.S. will continue to shift its military focus toward countering the “pacing challenge” posed by China.

“Consistent with the Secretary’s focus on China as our pacing challenge, the priority region for the Global Posture Review was the Indo Pacific,” Karlin said. “The Global Posture Review directs additional cooperation with allies and partners across the region to advance initiatives that contribute to regional stability and deter potential military aggression from China and threats from North Korea.”

Karlin explained that the additional measures to deter aggression from China will include “enhancing infrastructure in Australia and the Pacific Islands, and planning rotational aircraft deployments in Australia.” Karlin explained that the infrastructure improvements the U.S. is seeking include things like expanded fuel and munitions storage and upgrades to airfields.

Karlin also said, “You’ll see ground forces training and increased logistics cooperation” in Australia.

Karlin also said there would be permanently stationing a previously rotational Attack Helicopter Squadron and Artillery Division Headquarters in South Korea. The decision puts those now permanent attack helicopters and artillery systems in a position to counter North Korean aggression.

A defense official told CNN the latest Global Posture Review further frees up U.S. military resources for the Indo-Pacific region by “reducing” the number of U.S. troops and equipment in other areas of the world. The review states these moves are “to enable improved warfighting readiness and increased activities” in the Indo-Pacific.

Former NY Governor Andrew Cuomo Receiving Pension Payments Despite Resignation, Investigations

Former New York Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo is still collecting a paycheck from the State of New York despite resigning in disgrace following scandals related to the COVID-19 pandemic and sexual assault allegations with nearly a dozen women.

The Niagara Gazette first reported Sunday that Cuomo received his first pension check last month in the amount of more than $4200. Cuomo’s reported annual benefits from the state amount to more than $50,000, which he will receive for the rest of his life. Cuomo will also receive a 1.4 percent cost of living increase every year.

A spokesman for the New York State Comptroller confirmed the payments to Fox News Monday. “Andrew M. Cuomo’s gross monthly retirement benefit with the New York State and Local Retirement System has been finalized and is $4,219.11,” the spokesman said. “He received his first pension payment in October of 2021.”

Under New York Law, members of the government “convicted of a felony related to their public service may have their retirement benefits reduced or revoked,” the Comptroller’s website states. However, the process is somewhat complicated. The District Attorney of State Attorney General must file a separate petition seeking the forfeiture of state benefits, only after the initial conviction. The Comptroller’s office must then verify that the individual is eligible for retirement benefits. Only then can the action proceed to trial. If the trial court orders the benefits to be revoked, the petitioning attorney must then serve the order to the Retirement System before they are mandated to comply.

So far, Cuomo has not been charged with any crimes.

The New York State Assembly released the final report of its impeachment investigation into Cuomo last Monday. The report found substantial evidence that Cuomo committed sexual harassment against multiple women, unethically used Executive Chamber employees and resources to write and publish his book on New York’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was “not fully transparent” regarding nursing home deaths from COVID-19.

I haven’t seen the movie Top Gun, and I won’t bother seeing the much anticipated sequel, Top Gun: Maverick. Why should I? If I wanted to see a movie produced by the Pentagon or the CIA, I would just watch Animal Farm.

Seriously. In perhaps the most ironic moment in the history of literature, the CIA actually made an animated movie version of Animal Farm. Of course, they rewrote Orwell’s ending to fit the message. CIA operative Howard Hunt, of Watergate fame, would recall in his memoir that they "tweaked [it] to heighten the anti-Communist message, and distribute it throughout the world in the hope that it would be seen by parents and children alike."

Other key contributors to the movie included Hollywood producer and agent Carleton Alsop and scriptwriter Finis Farr, who were both actually with the CIA. The CIA followed this project up by acquiring the rights to 1984. You got it: Big Brother owns Big Brother.

Through information acquired through a Freedom of Information Act request to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joseph Trevithick has reported that the Department of Defense was "closely involved" in the production of Top Gun: Maverick. The Department of Defense provided assets, equipment and locations to the producers. They had a constant presence on the set whenever the US military was being portrayed in the movie. The Department of Defense approved parts of the script and reserved the right to sign off on any changes.

Though this Pentagon involvement in Top Gun: Maverick is significant and worrisome, it is not as intrusive as the Pentagon, State Department and CIA have been in past Hollywood collaborations.

In modern times, The State Department doubled as director for The Interview, with an artistic eye toward encouraging thoughts of regime change in North Korea. Leaked emails reveal that at least two US government officials screened a rough cut of The Interview and gave the film their approval. The emails reveal that the State Department was involved in Sony’s decision to keep the scene of the death of Kim Jong-Un in the final cut of the film. Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton admits that they “Spoke to someone very senior in State.” The leaked emails also reveal that U.S. Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues, Robert King, was also consulting on The Interview.

Latvia Calls for Permanent US Military Presence to Counter Russia

The US has had troops in Latvia on a rotational basis

On Monday, Latvia’s defense minister called for a permanent US military presence in the Baltic state and said Riga wants to boost its defense with US Patriot surface-to-air missiles.

“We need additional international assistance,” Defense Minister Artis Pabriks told Reuters. “We would like to have a permanent United States presence in our country. And sea and air defense means basically going down to such systems as Patriot.”

Pabriks’ comments come ahead of the NATO Foreign Ministerial that Latvia is hosting on Tuesday and Wednesday. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was due to arrive in Latvia late Monday. There, Blinken is expected to consult with NATO on the alleged Russian troop build-up near Ukraine. A State Department official said Friday that “all options” are on the table for how to respond to Russia’s alleged build-up.

Since Latvia borders Russia, a permanent US presence in the country would be viewed as a significant provocation in Moscow. Over the past few years, the US has deployed troops to Latvia on a rotational basis, and NATO frequently holds military exercises in the country.

Latvia is not the only country in the region asking for more of a US and NATO military presence. Last week, Ukraine’s prime minister called for a “constant” presence of NATO warships in the Black Sea, and Poland’s president called for more troops to be deployed to Poland and the Baltic states of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

Doctors Warn New Medical School Guidance Would Lead to Unqualified Physicians and Unscientific Medicine

Accreditation guidelines call meritocracy 'malignant,' suggest genetic screening is racist

The two accrediting bodies for American medical schools now say that meritocracy is "malignant" and that race has "no genetic or scientific basis," positions that many doctors worry will lower standards of care and endanger lives by discouraging vital genetic testing.

The Liaison Committee on Medical Education, which accredits all medical schools in North America, is cosponsored by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)—the same groups that on Oct. 30 released a controversial guide to "advancing health equity" through "language, narrative, and concepts."

Those concepts include the ideas that "individualism and meritocracy" are "malignant narratives" that "create harm," that using race as a proxy for genetics "leads directly to racial health inequities," and that medical vulnerability is the "result of socially created processes" rather than biology.

Integrating these ideas into medicine, five professors and practicing doctors told the Washington Free Beacon, would be a catastrophe, resulting in underqualified doctors, missed diagnoses, and unscientific medical school curricula.

The guidance won't just influence the way doctors talk, these practitioners said, but also what they know and how they treat patients. It could even make them unwilling to screen racial minorities for serious conditions—including many types of cancer—that they are more likely to inherit, on the mistaken belief that genes play no role in racial health disparities.

"Some vulnerability isn't about economic or social marginalization," said Jeff Singer, a general surgeon in Arizona. "A lot of conditions"—such as Tay-Sachs, which disproportionately impacts Ashkenazi Jews, and triple-negative breast cancer, which disproportionately affects black women—"vary based on genetics. We’re talking about matters of life and death here."

Singer's warning echoes the argument that five black professors in March made in the New England Journal of Medicine, where they described genetic denialism as "a form of naive ‘color blindness'" that would "perpetuate and potentially exacerbate disparities."

The guide is part of an ongoing and controversial effort to institutionalize progressivism as public health's lingua franca. It was "deeply informed" by the "Inclusive Communication" guide that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published in September, as well as by the AMA's "Strategic Plan to Embed Racial Justice and Advance Health Equity" published in May. A few members of the AMA this month spoke out against that plan, arguing that it amounted to racial discrimination, while others said the AMA's focus on language would alienate patients and inject ideology into medicine.

That ideological injection has been administered by an incestuous network of nonprofits that supply and legitimize the language of activist physicians. The guide's citations include Race Forward, which lobbied against the Trump administration's executive order on critical race theory, and the Narrative Initiative, which promotes "durable narrative change" to "make equity and social justice common sense."

These groups in turn receive support from some of the largest and best-financed foundations in the country. Race Forward is funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, while the Narrative Initiative, per the group's website, "was conceived and funded by The Atlantic Philanthropies and Ford Foundation."

Craig Murray, the former British diplomat, was sentenced to 8 months in prison for contempt of court during the 2020 trial of former Scottish first minister Alex Salmond.

Craig Murray, an ex-British ambassador and blogger, has been sentenced to eight months in prison after being found guilty in March of contempt of court during the 2020 trial of former Scottish first minister Alex Salmond. He was given three weeks to turn himself into police, pending his appeal. Judge Lady Dorrian issued the sentence, she said, despite Murray’s health issues.

Murray faced up to two years in prison and unlimited fines.

Murray must surrender his passport making it impossible to travel to Spain on May 20 to testify in the case of UC Global spying on WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange in the Ecuador embassy in London. The court heard that remote arrangements to testify to the Spanish court would have to be made.

Murray was charged with contempt for allegedly revealing the identity of four anonymous accusers indirectly; of writing about the exclusion of two jurors in violation of a court order and of allegedly prejudicing the case in Salmond’s favor. There was no pronouncement of guilt on the latter two charges. Salmond was acquitted at trial of 13 sex charges in March 2020.

Murray was found to have contravened an order by the Crown prosecutors to stop writing about the matter. Representatives of the Crown say Murray was warned of this in January 2020 and in August 2020.

Murray was charged in April 2020 with writing two articles on his website that led to the alleged prejudice in the Salmond case and to possible “jig-saw” identification, despite a court order of anonymity, of the women who alleged sexual assault against Salmond. The accusers’ identities were to remain anonymous by order of Lord Justice Clerk Lady Dorrian, who presided over both Salmond’s and Murray’s trials.

On Day One, New Twitter CEO Uses Fake Trending Tab to Run PR For Himself, Bans Sharing Media of Private Individuals Without Permission

Parag Agrawal kicked off his first day as the new CEO of Twitter by using the site's "What's happening" tab for PR to try and explain away his old anti-white tweets and instituted new rules to ban the sharing of "media of private individuals without the permission of the person(s) depicted."

As I reported Monday, Agrawal posted a quote in the past suggesting that "white people" and "racists" are one in the same and said just last year he and doesn't want the platform to be "bound" by the First Amendment.

A year or so ago, Twitter replaced it's "Trending" tab on the right with a fake "What's happening" tab that's curated by their administrators. The purpose was to prevent anything from trending which they didn't want and give Twitter admins more control over what people were discussing.

On Tuesday, Agrawal used the fake trending tab to post a "News" story saying: "An old Tweet from Parag Agrawal is a quote from a television show and is a satirical take on stereotypes, journalists report."
