Jew is a term that came about recently. It only came into popularity in the late 18th century. Wikipedia will try to convince you that it was popular before hand, saying it comes from the word Yehudi. But it was never in common parlance. Yehudi simply means from Judea.
Yes Jesus comes from the line of Judah. But there is a problem. The term Jew today encompasses those people who use the babylonian talmud. So by saying Jesus is a jew you are grouping him in with them. The distinction is then burried.
Not to mention the fact that the hebrews of the old testament also fell away from God after king David. No good kings in israel and only one in Judea came after David. So we know that even before the capture and exile of the hebrews they typically preferred evil. Just look at what happened to Elijah, only a remnant was saved.
Distinctions need to be made is what I am really trying to get at. Yes Jesus came to fulfill the law, because the authorities acted like they were worshiping God by day and actually worshiped satan, ba'al and maloch at night. Hebrews are God's chosen people, but those who came back from exile are perverted.
If we are going to say anyone who has descended from abraham is one of God's chosen people, then I am sure almost everyone on the planet is a hebrew at this point. Also if a person claims to worship the God of Abraham, and practices a totally different religion which worships satan are they still a hebrew spiritually?
