"Senator Jeanne Shaheen, a supporter of widespread access to abortion, predicted a "revolution," particularly among young people who would find judicial action striking down the legal precedent "not acceptable." Shaheen's remarks came after a question about whether the debate over abortion was "muted" because most people alive today only know life post-Roe. The 74-year-old senator said the topic mattered to her because she experienced a world before the Roe v. Wade ruling, which found a constitutional right to privacy that extends to those seeking abortions. Despite concerns from the Left about the vulnerability of the Roe ruling due to the composition of a Supreme Court, on which six out of nine justices were appointed by Republican presidents, several of the GOP-appointed justices have expressed support for legal precedent and have suggested Roe may be viewed as settled law. The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments for Dobbs v. Jackson on Wednesday."
